Red - Ch3
Simon was yelling. Simon always yelled at me. I was crouched, huddled in the corner of my room at the Inn, arms over my head, seeking shelter and protection from his onslaught. I was alone and helpless. Jacqui, Jill and Ruby were all at dinner. I couldn’t sit down. My bottom stung from the brutal assault Simon had given it with his belt. A welt had quickly formed on my thighs from the same treatment. He grabbed me roughly by the arm and pulled me to my feet.

Red - Ch2
The next morning, we headed over to the Inn’s dining room for breakfast. Being able to properly enjoy my food was another new experience. I was used to either eating in a hurry or not eating at all. We were both ravenous after the ordeals of the night before and ate with zeal, ordering the full continental breakfast. Our conversation was lighter than our previous one. We spoke of silly things, of dreams and hopes and our deepest desires. I made sure to get a few happy snaps to commemorate the occasion. We had known each other less than twenty-four hours and already we were fast friends.

Red - Ch1
Red – the colour of the Outback. Everywhere I looked was red; red sand beneath my feet, red rocks standing tall and proud. Even the sky was red as the sun threw out its final rays in a glorious grand finale. It was not farewell. It would be back in the morning to shine once again on these magnificent, rugged plains of red. I breathed deeply. It was my first day here in the Australian Desert – the first day of a four-week trip. Already I felt small and insignificant, like I was buried by the sheer grandeur of this vast, great land. But I didn’t feel smothered or overwhelmed. I felt free. This was my journey, my voyage of self-discovery. Here, I was alone. Here I could unpack the heavy baggage I carried within my soul; no airs or graces, no pretending, no acting like everything was fine when really, I was dying inside. It was just me – open, honest and raw. Raw like this desert.

A Stitch in Time Saves Nine
“They say a stitch in time saves nine. Come around and we shall dine, show you how one stich saves nine. Will you be the one? Will you still be standing when we are done? Will you once again see the sun? So come around and we’ll have a great time, play a game of mime or even rhyme.”

Alien Desires
A bright light enveloped me and suddenly, I felt myself being lifted from the bed, strangely relaxed for the given circumstances. Must be a dream, I told myself. It was the only plausible explanation. Being an amateur astronomer, I was used to dreaming about space and extraterrestrial life. For years I had searched the skies for clues that aliens existed. I wanted to believe they did. I wanted to believe that there was something better out there than our depleted planet Earth. Through the haze of a foggy consciousness, I looked up and saw the outline of a large spaceship. A UFO! A real UFO! Gently, I was brought through a circular opening in the base of the ship and laid down on the cold, metal floor. My head felt heavy and the air felt thick, hard to breathe. My vision faded and the world went black. The last thing I saw were man-like shapes moving towards me.

Dance of the Phoenix - Ch6
Kaido illustriously gave me the grand tour of the castle. Every now and then, a fuzzy picture would come to mind, small things such as the two of us talking about something, or a meal we had eaten in a certain room. We had lived here together for quite some time before my disappearance and it had the comfortable vibe of being a warm, happy place.
