The 5 Most Impractical Clothing Choices Worn in Survival Horror Games
Feminine clothing is a hot-button issue... well, practically in all topical conversations. But this isn't an article to discuss sexism, though it might be mentioned once or twice. No, what I'm talking about is the sheer impracticality of some clothing choices, with both female AND male characters.
'Resident Evil 2: REmake' - Good, but Overzealous
Can we accuse Capcom of selling out when Resident Evil 7: Biohazard was such a surprising success? Though I'd argue that Resident Evil 6: What the Fuck Is This? was certainly grounds for disenfranchisement. However, no game is without its flaws and critiquing a good game is not always shoving flowers up the developers ass. But a few bad mechanics doesn't necessarily weigh out the good and Resident Evil 2: REmake is certainly a contender to be one of the best remakes in the last decade.
'The Handmaid's Tale' Analysis: Chapters 6-8
Chapter 6 Offred often describes Ofglen as pious and deliberates on whether it’s sincere or for show. In her inner monologue, she talks of her wings which she calls “blinkers.” Handmaids wear the wings to “keep them from seeing, and also from being seen.” This is Gilead’s approach to eliminating sexual harassment of Handmaids while they do their chores. The wings are also symbolic of the tightly defined space the Handmaids are allowed to roam. Their vision is limited, as is their understanding of the outside world.
Why Some Things Shouldn't Be Told to Employers in a Job Interview
First off, let me preface this by saying this is in no way actual advice for anybody. It's little more than a rant, a middle finger to the employer that couldn't look past my anxiety issues, disability act be damned. Perhaps it's a philosophical debate into what employers really want. It seems like all sympathy goes out the door when money is involved, no second chances or leeway. I didn't lie about my employment history, which in hindsight, I should have. You're told complete honesty is how you should handle job interviews, but that isn't true at all.
The Toxicity of MMO Gamer Elitism and Its Effect in Gaming Communities
Elitism is an ideology we all hope that we wouldn't have to deal with in a regular day-to-day work setting. You'd expect it from the preening, narcissistic attitudes from self-absorbed businessmen raking it in on Wall Street or hosting McDonalds feasts at the White House. Hell, maybe even a little peacock-strutting from Bill in accounting who got a promotion bonus like the overachieving pencil-pushing geek that he is. But then you get home and want to blow off some steam by playing a game, either alone or with a dungeon-raiding team online.
Even More Hatred for 'Fallout 76'
Readers, I am quite depressed. I keep playing this game like I’m trying to Stockholm Syndrome myself into loving it. Currently, the servers are down for more maintenance only two days after the last 47GB and change update. I start a job in two days time, Bethesda. How am I supposed to pick apart your travesty of a game if you keep gluing it back together? I don't have time to wait for you to fix your mistakes! This isn't like you've forgotten to add the extra pickles to my burger, this is like you've replaced the burger with a fried cat turd!
'Fallout 76': More Bad than Good (a Review)
You know how much I love waiting for games to download and install? Almost as much as I love waiting for day-one patches. I swear to Beelzebub, if Fallout 76 requires an immediate update after so much bullshit Beta nonsense, I am taking a bus straight to Bethesda Studios and shitting in their mailbox.
Top 5 Most Overrated Video Games of the Recent Decade
If Pablo Picasso had painted eight pieces of the exact same subject and background, and tried to profit off a museum full of just that same painting over and over again, he'd be forcibly committed, or at least decommissioned. So why are game developers getting away with it? How many fucking Mario clones are going to spawn from Nintendo-like eggs from a salmon? But it's not just the game developers, it's the publishers. Electronic Arts (EA) is allowed to release the same damn sports games every year, but even the most promising new idea discussed in a business meeting is squashed in favor of another Assassin's Creed, another Far Cry game, another Call of Duty.
