The Legend of the Pear Tree
A wave of nausea flooded my stomach and radiated through the rest of my body like an atomic explosion. I made a desperate grab for my canteen as my horse and I traveled across the dry landscape of “Valle Seco”, The Dry Valley. The water was warm, but it was better than not drinking at all. I shook my head and quietly kicked myself for not hydrating enough in preparation for this trip. I of all people, should know better.

Our Girl Minnie
I'd like to tell you about a dear friend of mine. She was a 16-year-old Border Collie named Minnie. She was very special to everyone because although she's experienced hard times in her life, her sweet nature and undaunting zest for life never wavered. She was the gentlest soul I've ever known in an animal, and I'd like to tell you her story.

At The Edge of the Forest: Part 2
The story takes place around the time of 1,200 A.D. Foreign invaders from the Northern Scandinavian countries, also known as the Danes or Vikings, raided and pillaged the land in every direction. These seafarers left their Scandinavian homelands to raid, trade and colonize. During the Viking Age. The word “Dane” became synonymous with Vikings that raided and invaded England. During this time, thousands of innocent people’s lives were destroyed. Suddenly, they found themselves ripped away from their homes, or killed, and hurled into a life of slavery and hardship. It was more merciful to be killed rather than taken as a slave. Life in the Dark Lands was barren, cold and dangerous to all who lived there.

The Raging Bull
This is the perfect community for me because I’ve journaled all my life: since I was 15 years old. I remember sitting in government class writing in my journal, although, at the time I pretended to take notes as the teacher lectured about the judicial system which at the age of 17 I hadn’t much interest in. I got a C in that class.

Molly and Her Monsters
Molly slowly opened her eyes. She stretched and yawned welcoming in the new day after a good night’s sleep. Suddenly she remembered it was a school day. She jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom mirror. Much to her disappointment nothing had changed. Her freckles were still there, and her bright red hair didn’t change to a beautiful golden blond or brown.
