Thoughts and Experience on Cannabis
Cannabis has a long history in human culture and so does bonding around a fireplace. At first you might wonder the significance between the two, but I find there is a deep connection with relaxation and healing effects of cannabis.
Throughout the 18th century, smallpox ravished society, killing millions of people. Currently the smallpox virus has been eradicated with the help of vaccines. After Edward Jenner’s discovery, vaccinations revolutionized medicine and increased overall health. Despite the millions of lives saved from vaccinating diseases like smallpox, polio, and tetanus, many parents have concern when immunizing their children. U.S. state and city health departments require children to be immunized before entering school with exemptions such as: allergy to vaccine, religious preference, and rarely personal or philosophical preference (McNeil). There are some controversies over vaccines and their side effects. Aside from the rare side effects, child vaccinations overall are effective, protect youth health, and maintain a community’s well-being.
How to Reprogram Your Mindset
I have always been intrigued by the reason why we do the things we do. Human behavior is often very puzzling, including my own. How some people get addicted to sugar and others gamble, how some overcome these vices and how some succumb to them. After years of mental health therapy, countless self-help videos, journaling, and meditating, I’m here to share the most useful techniques I’ve found to change your mindset to live happily in the moment.
It’s been a week in Seattle and I’m ready to leave. I’ve told Ian so many times I hate crowds, yet he drags me to every market, festival, human filled restaurant he can find. I should just be happy since it is his birthday after all but I lack enthusiasm. Social outings have never been my forte and I count the hours down until the weekend ends. As we eat breakfast, meet up with his friends, go sightseeing, my patience grows thin. I find nothing in these small moments he seems to strive for. I don’t know if these times drive us further apart because it's clear to everyone no matter how I strive to cover up, I would rather be alone. As I go to escape to the bathroom, I overhear your childhood friend Rebecca ask the group if my discomfort is an act or if I’m really just that disconnected. Hearing that makes me want to disappear. I debate making an escape while in the bathroom. Wondering if leaving your life would solve all the fears your family and friends have about us.
