I am hurting today. I am hurting for my sorrows. I am hurting for my joys. My past. My present. I am hurting today.

Dream a dream, forget tomorrow. Forget the lingering wants and desires. All that matters is only now. It is the thoughts which set the soul afire.
When the seeds of sleep drift on the leaves… As darkness falls and light recedes… Amid the shadows of the eaves… We feel the full moon’s glow.
I need to search to find my words Half times when I am aching. To say exactly how I feel Amid a heart that’s breaking.
Am I doomed to walk alone Forever one and never known? For those who come, I don’t return And so am forced to forever burn
I wish you knew how beautiful you are And how beautiful you can be. I wish I had words that could make you see What all others see.
Gripping pavement with nails chipped to the brink The blood cascading down the arms To mingle with the sweat Of working too hard to keep up.
Far and away onto forever I wish and sigh for yesterdays. Wishing, waiting to take back Actions upon actions that carved a way.
Take me away from here. Let me forget to breathe and live. Drive my mind to captive places I have but dreamed to discover.
Turpentine spinning on gossamer wings, Proclaiming the songs to the stars. Evidence yet to be physically seen And memories that scratch at the scars.
“Pitter patter. Pitter patter,” The rain sings on as it falls, “‘Tis time to sleep while all things creep Amid these tiny walls.”
Follow fast and follow faster Far away to distant lands. Never glimpse behind the plaster Or to shred the stained hands.
