My Review of "Dune (1984)"
Dune has showed up on my Netflix suggestions so many times that I gave in and watched it. I was in for a heck of a show. It was confusing, mesmerizing, captivating, and it took me a little while to process what I just watched by the end of the movie. I have to remember that this movie had come out in 1984 so I can't really judge it to the levels of special effects we have today.

My Review of "Evolution"
Evolution is a product of the time that it was made. There are a few jokes and trends in this movie that I don't think kids nowadays would understand. I have heard of this movie when it first came out but never got around to seeing it until now. It's a pretty cookie cutter comedy of the early 2000s so it's a nice walk down memory lane for me.

My Review of "Chronicle"
Back in 2012 the YouTube movement was just starting to really skyrocket and people were making vlogs. So Hollywood producers decided to green-light Chronicle as it's premise derives of a kid videotaping his daily life. Today this isn't such a weird idea but back in 2012 kids were still working with camcorders that were as big as a brick. It wasn't as practical as it is with cell phones. In a way this movie was ahead of it's time.

My Review of "Beats"
I have to admit that I didn't even know that the movie Beats existed until I was watching a YouTube movie about Netflix movies that I should check out. Beats was on the list and it came out in 2019 with little promotion from Netflix. That's too bad because I really think this movie deserves more of a push.

My Review of "The Main Event"
In the past I remember a bunch of movies with a similar plot line to The Main Event. There was Rookie of the Year in 1993, Angels in the Outfield in 1994, Like Mike in 2002 and Thunderstruck in 2012. I guess it's about time for another one in 2020. I had very fond memories of those aforementioned movies so I thought this movie could capture the formula.

My Review of "Tigertail"
We all have stories and this is a story about one man's personal journey to immigrate to the United States. I for one think that a few Asian families can relate to this story. There are layers to this story that aren't really talked about in Asian families. I think the makers of this movie made a bold decision in discussing those things. It's a exploration of duty, love and passing along our characteristics to the next generation.

My Review of "The Three Musketeers 1993"
Back in the 90s I remember loving The Three Musketeers. That's when I was a preteen though. Years have passed and I haven't seen this movie for a long time. I unfortunately didn't enjoy this movie quite as much as I remembered it. That's unfortunate because I did have high hopes for this one.

My Review of "Fun and Fancy Free"
My Disney classic lessons continue. Today I was introduced to Fun and Fancy Free. It's a double feature film that came out back in 1947. Watching this today I start thinking how great hand drawn cartoons are. I have a great appreciation for the way they animated their cartoons back in the day especially Disney movies because the animation is so fluid.

My Review of "Rogue One"
I saw Rogue One when it first came out in the theaters and bought the movie when it first came out on 3D Blu-Ray. I haven't seen it for a while and I realized I haven't seen it for a while so I checked it out again. This time I noticed a few more things about this movie that I didn't realize the first few times I saw it.

My Review of "Smokey and the Bandit"
I honestly didn't know much about the 1977 movie Smokey and the Bandit before I watched it. It's a classic movie so I've heard of the title before but didn't really know what it was about. Seeing as it's such an old movie I thought it would be outdated and I wouldn't be able to enjoy it but I've been proven wrong many times. A good movie is a good movie regardless of its age.

My Review of "Onward"
Pixar animations has a very good reputation for making good movies. I have seen a few that missed the mark but for the most part they're always good. This gives me the confidence that Onward would be a good movie despite the fact I didn't think their trailer looked any good. I just looked back at what they did with the movie Up back in 2009. That movie looked terrible but it turned out to be one of their most memorable movies. They've proved me wrong countless times and so I was willing to take the risk.
