My Review of "Lucky Grandma"
Lucky Grandma is a comedy that came out in 2019. I didn't hear too much about this one because it is a low budget independent movie. Although, the grandma starts off as an unlikeable grump, I eventually grew to like her through the movie. I went even so far as cheered for her by the end of the movie. Despite the many comical situations that happen in this movie there are some deeper existential questions sprinkled throughout the movie.

My Review of "Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar"
Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar is a comedy that came out recently in 2021. I think it's a crying shame that not a lot of people are giving it much buzz. Although I didn't know what I was getting into when I decided to watch this movie, I was taken aback how wacky it ended up being. You have to understand that I'm into wild and zany comedies and not a lot of them come out anymore. That's why this movie floored me as I was watching it.

My Review of "Invincible: Season One"
Invincible: Season One is one of the biggest surprises for me in 2021. It's a TV series that is exclusive to Amazon Prime. I heard about this show for a little while but didn't actually check it out until the last few weeks of its airing. Boy was I glad I checked it out because I absolutely soaked it all in.

My Review of "The Mitchells Vs The Machines"
The Mitchells Vs The Machine is Netflix's latest 2021 animated family film. We're still starved for new movie content nowadays and I think this should satiate some of our appetites. It's a family friendly film so it goes without saying that you should expect a fairly predictable movie. The execution however was very well delivered.

My Review of "Nomadland"
Nomadland was released in 2020 with not a lot of publicity until recently. It's a movie that wouldn't appeal to all tastes but has very interesting and deep concepts. As I watched the movie I continued to understand different messages of what it was trying to say to the audience. It's too bad these movies aren't commercial successes. The industry would feel much more diverse with companies willing to take chances on different types of stories.

My Review of "The Punisher: Season 2"
The Punisher: Season 2 came out exclusively on Netflix in 2019. I was a huge fan of the first season back in 2017. It took them 2 years to come out with the second season. Unfortunately with the Disney acquisition of the Marvel licenses there won't be any more Netflix Marvel shows. This will have to be the final season.

My Review of "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier"
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is a mini series that has recently been released exclusively on the Disney Plus streaming channel in 2021. Not a lot was known about this series just as the first series "WandaVision" but I think that was a great thing. It's surprising to say but Disney Plus has really gotten us excited to watch TV programs again. That's a hard thing to do in today's day and age. With the internet not a lot can be kept secret and yet they where able to keep things tight lipped until the very end.

My Review of "Love and Monsters"
Love and Monsters came out in 2020 and not a lot of movies were coming out at this time. It was a time when all of the big studios held back their big releases and we were desperate for good content. That's why I'm so impressed with the quality of this movie. However this movie does remind me of Zombieland that came out back in 2009. This movie just speaks to a new generation of kids.

My Review of "Independence Day"
Independence Day is one of the biggest movies that had come out back in 1996. It was one of the big blockbuster movies that put Will Smith on the map and was at the height of the Jeff Goldblum era. I was merely a teenager when I saw it the first time and I loved it. 25 years later I wasn't sure if this movie would translate quite as well. Would it be the nostalgia that would keep me interested or is it actually still an entertaining movie today?

My Review of "Save Yourselves"
Save Yourselves is probably a movie that you've never heard of. I've never heard of this movie until it popped up on my streaming radar. The premise of the story had me hooked right away. I love disaster movies and I like comedies so why not have the two together. The only thing is it's a different type of comedy that I'm starting to see more often.

What to eat in Ottawa, Ontario
There is a vast amount of restaurants still open in Ottawa, Ontario however they need your business now more than ever. With the pandemic hitting this city, I have noticed a lot of stores, namely restaurants that have been closing down. If you're a resident of Ottawa or just visiting these are the restaurants I'd suggest to you.

My Review of "The Stand In"
The Stand In came out very quietly in 2020. I haven't heard of the movie until it became available for stream on Netflix. What I thought would be a predictable movie ended up as... a predictable movie. At least it has some interesting messages throughout the movie. Not everyone will like this type of humor but I think I understood what they were trying to get at.
