Create Yourself First
Sara Blakely, Founder of Spanx, became the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world at only 41. Impassioned, personable and straight-talking she went from door-to-door fax machine sales to running the world’s largest underwear empire. It wasn’t overnight success of course, but years of graft and wily determination.

5 Ways to Overcome the Paralysing Fear of Judgement
My son had a haircut and is now in a trauma state. Yes, a micro trauma all things considered but the reaction going on in his young mind and body is symptomatic of trauma. He’s terrified about going to school, being bullied and suffering shame. He’s oscillating from hysteria to immense sadness to pragmatic resolution: “I’m not going to school for a few weeks Mum.” (Sidenote, “Sorry Darling, but yes you are.”).

Just Decide
In the 2 weeks before Roger Bannister made history cracking the 4 minute mile he was on holiday. He wasn’t pounding the track daily, focusing body and mind religiously on the May 6th 1954 race day goal. Nope, he was on holiday. Hiking in Scotland with some non-runner pals strictly briefed not to mention the sub-4 minute target.

WHY WHERE AND HOW YOU WORK MATTERS (AND HOW TO OPTIMISE IT FOR YOU)
Okay, 2 weeks into the new year, how are we doing? Hit the ground running and excited for all those 2023 OKRs being finalised within your teams? Enjoying grinding back into central London on the stuttering commute and shaking out those sodden brollies discreetly in the office foyer? Yup we’re back, the holidays are over.

The Blessing of Mistakes
Ah, the aromatic tang of mulled wine, smoking logs and damp dogs, it’s winter, it’s Christmas and the end of the year is nigh. Time to reflect on 12 months of grind and growth and memories made as the clocks tick steadily onwards for it to all begin cyclically once more on 1st Jan. Did we hit our well-intended New Year goals set this time last year? Did we gloriously succeed or miserably fail at our shiny ‘best year yet’? Any regrets? Any cringy mistakes cowering in our Shame Centres?

Lockdown's Unseen Crisis of Cognitive BounceTop Story - March 2021
Here’s a snapshot of my Thursday afternoon: 2 hour global conference presenting our digital transformation consultancy to several hundred excos across our top markets. 1 hour International Women’s Day panel pre-record. 2 x 30 min 2021 KPI setting sessions with direct reports. An hour with our holding co discussing shared service needs. 30 min consultation with my daughter’s college tutor and ex-husband. 30 min check in with French CEO. 1 hour session with tech founders looking for collaboration potential. 30 min client proposal run through. 30 min weekly status with US team. 8pm and breathe…

One Day At A Time. This is Enough.
When I was a little girl my grandfather gave me an A5 postcard which I pinned to my headboard. I still treasure it today and made 4 copies which now preside over each of my children's beds. It is a simple poem which struck and continues to strike a deep chord within me. It has shaped my life’s philosophies, my behaviours and my intense ‘cherish today’ attitude. It reads as follows:

Rejection Resilience
We’re hard wired to experience rejection in the brain as though we’re experiencing a physical would. It hurts! It lowers self esteem and triggers aggressive and angry behaviour. Learn how to invite the fear of rejection in to build resilience and immunity to its pain. It will enable you to stop being held back in life and progress into areas you desire with self worth and the knowledge that you are enough exactly as you are.

I am Single with 4 Children & 1 Dog but Smiling (throughout lockdown & beyond)!
Yep, time is a precious commodity. There won’t ever be more than 24 hours in a day and an 8 day week remains a mythical dream. Suddenly though, today, right now, time is smacking us in our faces. Smacking us with a jovial, street kid’s back at ya hand gesture. Time is apparently unexpectedly abundant. No more commutes, no school runs, no entertaining, no hair-dressers’ appointments, no gym, nowhere to go. And yet 2 weeks into lockdown the patchwork of faces on my Zooms are looking more frazzled, weary and burnt out than ever. What’s up with this new normal and why aren’t we all reconnecting with our spiritual cores, rekindling our long-forgotten hobbies and fitting in quality time with the kids as those idealistic bloggers suggest we should be?

Choose your Attitude Consciously Top Story - January 2021
We are taught in modern self-help literature that ‘life isn’t fair’. We are taught to choose our attitudes in how to deal with life’s unfairness. As Victor Frankl, Auschvitz survivor and psychotherapist states in 'Man’s Search for Meaning '

Ditch the Boss Babe Persona & Life Gets a Whole Lot Easier (and more fun)
For many years I battled through life. I adopted masculine energy and stepped into an ethereal, engorged power stance as I fervently propelled myself forwards. I warred against internal and external resistance, defiantly donning armour as I assertively slayed the myriad obstacles in my path. I pushed through personal boundaries and obsessively chanted ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’. I squashed that fear and indeed I did do it anyway. I made progress, I evolved, grew, ascended… Externally, the houses got bigger, the number of children higher, businesses swelled, the career hierarchy elevated, onwards and upwards I pirouetted. I was definitely dancing my way up. A merry dance in hindsight. A dancing delirium I now reflect.
