Get Yo' Kids
This comedy series will display a cast of six friends who are professionals working in different careers. All are single, have no children, and are aged 26-28. There are 3 males and 3 females. Their professions are doctor (Malik), lawyer (Carter), teacher (Jabriel), construction worker (Jimmy), bus driver (Yolanda), and an author of children’s books (Sasha). Although an interesting bunch of old high school friends, they don’t let it stop them from making time for one another. Every Friday after work, they all meet for dinner and drinks to revive their personal lives after a disastrous week. The stories they tell are full of outrageous events, fun, work, and most importantly their encounters with “kids.”
Who Are You?
They say I can't talk about it, but I will. More than ever, our people need to know who we are. I won't let them silence me. I can't just stand back and let us lose hope. Everything we worked so hard to live through, has not been in vain. We have not been deserted or forgotten. The sun still shines each day and our ancestors smiles are upon us. They are spreading their breath of life down from the Ethers. I can feel their strength and backbone through my spine leading up and out my mouth. Our ancestors' were so determined and strong, and I was born to follow in their footsteps. The power that is in them now lives through me. I am here to spread our antibiotics over all those infected with fictitious beliefs, ill-mannered words, and actions. Up until my birth our method of living has been to survive. Now that I have grown boldly in my influence, I will reintroduce what our existence has always been.
B.I. Mona Lisa
“Mona, you keep moving. You will need to hold very still.” “How still, Mr. Leo?” “Still like my stargazing eyes, or my steady hand. Watch, as it intrinsically strokes and caresses the page with all these magnificent symmetrical shapes and color. Marvelous! How about it, Mona?”
He's The Greatest
Many give the role of being a parent solely to the mother. Let me explain. In many cases mothers are left to be both a mother and father due to divorce, separation, or widowing. Some children grow up resenting their father when they are not present or leave the home; Especially, when a father does not make the effort to see their child. Traditional homes carry this connotation by displaying the mother as an authoritative figure as she spends way more time raising the children, whereas the father is portrayed as working hard, long hours to support the family. Still one of the biggest mishaps is that Mother’s Day is inadvertently celebrated way more than Father’s Day. This suggests the role of the mother is way more significant than a father.
Scallop Hell & Fortune
I always knew I was meant to be rich. I didn’t care how I got there, just as long as I was able to enjoy the benefits. All the other fishermen would hate to see me coming. I would make my way around, through, even sometimes stepping on them just to get to the top. Yup. That was my mentality, and rightfully so.
My Candid Story
Life is a mystery. But once you unfold the “what” seems like a thousand pounds of buried laundry over your head, the mystery bursts open. There is no one-way street to getting there either. Life happens, and then you’re thrown in to figure out your path all by yourself. Life can be confusing, or simplistic, depending on your story, how supportive your environment is, and how in tune you are with yourself. Your path or walk in the blindfolded maze is what you make it.
The Lakes Secret
Chapter 1 CAMPGROUNDS It was a cold fall night. Nothing in sight. The streetlights were too far away and not even the yellow or the red of leaves covering the green grass could brighten the ground. The park only allowed darkness to pierce the eyes of its well awaited campers. Everyone was quiet, for they knew what lured in this eeriness. There was no need to scream. No need to move a muscle. The morning would come and that was their chance for escape. To add more fury to the madness, all eight members had to sit straight up the entire night fall. To sleep would put much at risk.
Today is a great day. I’m so excited. I am well suited for the task. The sharp wind feels like slicing ice across the subtle, small, open spaces on my face between my hat and scarf. Everything else are no match for the rest of my body. My mom told me I had to layer up. So, she even helped me put on my long johns underneath my jeans and sweater. My coat is even insulated with a fleece underlaying. Anyway..., that’s what mom calls it. I don’t like to be cold. Mom doesn’t want me to be either. Afterwards, mom said she’s going to cook her famous chicken noodle soup. I can’t wait. The only catch is I must do well. Dad will be home later on. I can’t wait to brag to him how my first lesson went.
