Here to post my thoughts/opinions on misc. things, and short stories/excerpts from screenplays.
I'm also part of a podcast:
Why Can't They Hear the Screech?
Juneau, Alaska – 1995 Aiden was pacing back and forth with his hands over his ears. He was trying as hard as he could to block it out – the sound that had haunted him for over a decade...the screech of the barn owl. His pace mimicked the waves beside him; they moved upon the shore and then recoiled. Though the darkness hid it, his face was red and his eyes were wet with tears. The horrific screech grew louder causing Aiden to drop to his knees. He pounded on the gritty sand beneath him and let out a scream. A scream that he thought only the waves could hear...
Fighting Against the Monotony of Fitness
Ever since getting into my current relationship almost two years ago, I gained between 30-40lbs. Following my high school graduation, I weighed 235lbs. I was overweight, didn't workout, and hated how I looked. Getting into college made me adapt to a new daily routine; I ate differently, rode a bicycle indoors, occasionally went to the gym, and did some workouts from home. Over the following four years or so, I weighed around 185lbs.
Karl Pilkington became known from his time on "The Ricky Gervais Show" in early 2000s. Started in 2001, the radio show consisted of Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, and Karl Pilkington. Despite the name, the show centered mainly on Karl. The show aired for a few years and gained a large increase in following when it was released as a podcast in the later part of 2005. It was so popular, that it was in the 2007 Guinness World Record for the most downloaded podcast in the world. The show was then converted to an animated series in 2010.
Give 'em a Listen
These songs have been imprinted on me after countless plays. I know that many readers, myself included, who come across lists like this don't give a lot of credence to songs that are performed by an artist that they dislike or just have a skewed view of, but bear with me. Give these songs a listen...what have you got to lose?
Dear Mango Mussolini,
(forgive me if another writer used the above image) ***I find it fitting that my first post on Vocal should be about the 2020 election given today is election day.
