Warning: This article discusses sexual violence. In April, SA Awareness Month and Prevention Month, 2021, a group of men on TikTok declared April 24th to be “National R*** Day” in which they encouraged people to commit sexual assault, and claimed it was now legal to do so on this day.

I've been doing better. It's my go-to response. But better isn't always better. It was good when I could dissect the small things in my life, making to-do lists that didn't feel like life sentences, or making plans that got me so excited I stayed up all night. It was good when I had the energy, the mental capacity to appreciate it, to absorb the love that was in front of me.

Overwhelmed. It’s the only word I have to describe the feeling. Your bedroom becomes more and more of a mess. The house is neglected more and more. You can’t keep up with your chores, even when you just have to clean one room a week. You get up in the morning for work because you know if you don’t, there’s no one else to feed the cat.

Many people, when they hear the words "Islamic" or "Muslim," their first thought is terrorism and violence. This association is a direct result of media after 9/11 and other terrorist attacks, instilling fear in the citizens of America to post a face to the enemy. However, by doing this, America itself created racism in its citizens.
