e UK Government is lying about the state pension age.
MPs recently debated a petition to reduce the retirement age to 60 for everybody. During the debate MPS repeatedly cited the principle that people should be able to spend the final third of their life in a dignified retirement, the implication being that the state pension should allow this.

In 1785 French mathematician Nicolas Condorcet discovered problems in the theory of voting when the voters had more than two alternatives. In his examination of various voting systems he discarded the first past the post system if there were more then two alternatives, because the least popular alternative might win even if it would lose in a series of pairwise elections.

Java Object Serialization: Risks and benefits and the Stale Code Bug Pattern
Serialization lets a programmer convert a Java object to a string of bytes in a JVM independent form that can be stored or transmitted over a network and recreate the object when needed. The same technique in python is called Pickling. Since the serialised object is stored in a JVM independent form it can be serialised on one platform and recreated on another.
