*While I was watching Sunset Boulevard one night I was listening to Joe and Betty describe a story for a movie script. If you have seen the movie you may know what I am going for, but for those who haven't I will not spoil it. The general idea was not mine alone, though I have been intrigued by the notion since watching the film.*

My F.R.I.E.N.D.S Story
It all started one day while I was in fifth grade. My mom was re-married and I didn't really know my new dad at the time, (don't worry we are awesome now all these years later) I was sick at home one day and watching whatever was on TV, if you were sick from home back then you know what was locally available. My dad came in and looked at the TV and asked me if I liked what was on I shrugged and told him , "Not really." He went back to my parents' room and came back with a set of VHS tapes and he popped one in. It was Season 1 of FRIENDS, yes people we have LIFT OFF.

Life of an Empath
It is hard to explain... so I guess I'll just start at the beginning... Since I was very young I had this 'tick' I was able to feel other people's emotions, if I passed someone in a store - even if they smiled - I could feel sadness, and I would carry that sadness through the rest of my day... at those young ages I didn't understand what was wrong with me... I grew up in a hard home for the first several years of memory... My dad was abusive towards us... my mom and my siblings... He was mean... and constantly angry... I don't have many memories of a young age where I didn't fear his pressence, even after he left... Most of my younger memories I remember being scared and trying to walk on eggshells... being taken from my bed in the middle of the night by my mother and waking up at someone else's home sometimes my grandparents and sometimes a family from our church... it took a long time for us to mend ourselves in our own way... Mom had to emmerse herself into work to take care of our now broken home and she had to hide her pain from us while my younger siblings and I cared for each other and the home.

The Real Danger
Allie sat at the table with her parents after telling them about her day giving them all of the information she could, they sat patiently listening but she could see the wheels turning in their minds steadily processing what she was telling them. There was a beat of silence before her father sat back and said,
