I've always wanted to know more about Swiss chard. Every time I'm grocery shopping, I recognize the vivid bright green leaves and colorful stems. I wondered if the stems were edible. I wondered if the cooking process for Swiss chard to be an identical process, like cooking spinach or collard greens.

The Joy In Bok Choy
Growing up, my parents never had to counsel me to eat my vegetables. Especially not the green ones! As I've gotten older, [green] vegetables are the main attraction of my breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have the same tendencies as I did when I was a younger girl, where I would devour all of my vegetables prior to tasting my starch or protein, on my plate.

Growing up, I didn't learn about spices and herbs. I was focused more on eye-popping plating and petite portions. As I broaden my palette, I've discovered how spices and herbs possess the inspiration packed into each dish. The hands simply prepare and cook the meal.

Why Walnuts Are A Must...
One of my aunts always offered various nuts as a hospitality gesture to guests in her home. My father would walk a B-line straight to the nutcracker while grabbing a handful of shelled nuts. As I'm unwrapping my aunt's saltwater taffy, I always see my father cracking nutshells and wiggling his shoes - his non-verbal gesture of pure bliss.
