Why There Will Never Be a Shopaholic Movie #2
Hard to believe this movie graced us with its presence just over 12 years ago. Long before it was made, the book written by Sophie Kinsella which introduced to the world, Rebecca Bloomwood (aka Becky) who as we all do loved to shop which hit the bookstores in the year 2000. This lovely character teamed excitement of shopping with the downside of using money wisely, and as an owner of a credit card that perhaps gets used more than it should, this book and movie combination is relatable on all levels.

Anxiety Struggles
Writing has been in my blood since before I can remember. I have short stories that I had written back from when I was five or six years old, granted they barely make sense now, but even from a young age I loved writing and reading. Going through primary school and then on to high school, English was always my strongest subject and I would devour book after book. As I got older and gained more responsibilities, I read less but still tried to keep the imagination alive by thinking of short stories, characters and scenarios. Towards the end of year ten in 2002 at high school my direction and thoughts changed as I was leaning towards design in terms of architecture or interior design as a possible career path. This was all while working part time in a supermarket, and by year eleven I was barely keeping up with working part time and study. Making the decision to leave school in 2003 before half way was a tough decision. It was a decision my parents and I had talked about and that whatever decision I made, they would support me regardless.

Why It Took Me 5 Months To Finish 1 Diamond Painting
Stress relieving and calming is what I thought Diamond Painting would be like, aka beautifully peaceful like floating on a cloud (ok maybe I was delirious from tiredness). It was true in the general sense, but I didn’t realise that the five dollar tiger would take me five months to complete.

Don't be Choco-late
Sweetness wafted through the air as Jenny stepped in to the room. There were so many tasty smells lingering, her stomach started to grumble. She didn’t want to be here, she wanted to be back home in her comfortable bedroom eating chocolate cake where she was in her safe zone.

Love at First Meow
Cats are the perfect pet. They are soft and cuddly, friendly for the most part and have been comfort during emotional times. My sisters and I grew up with cats from a young age, and my parents even now, still have 2 cats that we have had since birth.

Political Correctness Has Gone Too Far
I was born in 1987 which makes me a Gen Y. Political correctness has gone way too far. There are so many brands, songs, sporting teams and just everything that was ok for years, is now frowned up and classed as Politically Incorrect and forced by public pressure to change names. I learnt my nursery rhymes as everyone else did 'Baa Baa Black Sheep' definitely not 'Baa Baa Rainbow Sheep' and it doesn't matter who is up in arms, but I sing the old way to my nearly 3 year old daughter and will continue to do so.

Darkened Room
Chandeliers glistened, clinking wine glasses, happy chatter around the bride and groom but all I could think of was wishing I was anywhere but here. Not that I didn’t want to celebrate my friend Louise’s big day, it just happened to fall on the day my long term boyfriend decided he didn’t want to be with me anymore. Surrounded by happy couples was the last place I wanted to be.

Treadmill to Nowhere
2015 sparked a lot for my husband and myself. We moved from North Brisbane out to near Ipswich which meant saying goodbye to family, friends and our fitness regimen which helped me lose 25 kilograms from March 2013 to June 2015. Wanting to continue our training where there wasn’t a lot of option for gyms in the area, and with the daily commute for both of us, we attempted to set up a gym in our shed of our rental.

Do I Have A Choice?
The realisation of how controlled we actually all are, came when I was fifteen, although it started obviously much earlier when I was born. My earliest memory was of numbers appearing on my wrist, but mum pressed a number and they went away. I must have been about five years old, and when I asked mum about it all she said was,

Tick
Flicking a blonde curl out of her eyes, Joelynne Stevens glanced at her computer as she waited for an important email to come through. Seeing it hadn’t come yet she pushed her chair away and stood up and stretched her long arms above her head to relieve her aching muscles. As she put her hands back down beside her white knit jumper and slim fitting denim jeans that she had chosen to wear that day, she sighed and yawned as she spoke,

The All New Soletia Kennedy
It was a bright and sunny morning, when Soletia Kennedy made a decision to try and make herself and her life more attractive. As soon as she had tidied up her room and had gotten changed, she sat down at her desk with a piece of paper, a pen, a hand mirror and a full-length photograph of herself. First she studied herself in the photo, then the mirror. Her hair which was light brown and very dull and boring, always looked like it needed a good wash, and the clothes that she was wearing was a short sleeved dark-brown dress and underneath it was a pale purple long-sleeved shirt.
