Music and Mindfulness
Music, a word we all relate to, have a relationship with and, somewhat, define in our own, unique and special way. It is vocal, instrumental, a combination that is produced to evoke the beauty of a form of harmony and emotion that comes from within us. It is plentiful, yet, specific to each of us and at the same time, a connecting force that gives us the opportunity to know, understand and feel for one another in a way we otherwise would not. It is complex with depths that build labyrinths in our worlds and simple enough to be deciphered scientifically. It is a true element of how society operates, with a complex science of humans with mathematics to back it up.

A Story About Being Followed
The Story: I remember it vividly: feeling terrified, shocked, stuck, scared, and simply uncomfortable. A story about the first time I was ever followed by a man. The first time happened, when my cousin, her dog, and I went for a walk, on a public trail, near her house. About five minutes into starting on this trail, we noticed a man who was visibly day-drinking, holding a brown paper bag to cover his choice of drink. We slightly veered off the path, as the dog led us to where he wanted to do his business, between some trees. My cousin fell pretty silent before whispering to me, "That man's watching us." And, when I looked up, he was watching us from the path. Brown paper bag in hand, with zero shame, and with eyes on his prize. I immediately freaked out. My eyes widened, and my jaw probably dropped. Sheer terror must have been on my face, because my cousin noticed. She tried to calm me down, listing reasons not to worry:

Why Curtis Flowers?
Accused of four counts of murder, on death row, and has won all six of his appeals? Curtis Flower's has been tried six times for the same crime (the third most tried case in USA) and with enough evidence to set him free, the power of the DA has impacted Curtis Flower's right to a free trial. He maintains his innocence and through the power of family and music, he has his sights set on being released one day. I also hope to see Curtis Flower's a free man sooner than later.

Tying a Sari
What is a sari? The sari goes back to 2800-1800 BC where cotton and silk were woven in the northern parts of India and made into meters of cloth used to drape over women. Typically 5-9 yards of fabric are worn in special ways to comfortably cover a women's body. The three-piece ensemble is made up of a bando type cloth, representing the blouse, which covers the chest area, the lower garment that is decoratively folded pleats that fall between the legs, acting as a free-flowing skirt, and the upper garment drape that falls over the shoulder and traditionally used to cover the women head. There are multiple ways to wrap the sari as over time and through the dense, diverse cultures spanning the country cultural differences defined how women should be represented through the way they dressed.

A Story About Coworker Friendships
Being a positive person, I tend to make very close relationships, very fast. In my working career of over 10 years, I have continuously jumped between companies and school, giving me the opportunity to meet some very unique people. Working with someone everyday usually turns into a rooted relation where we both share sentiments about not wanting to part ways or let go of the wonderful times we spend together. A common sentiment that often fades quickly as we each become immersed into a new journey. I never hold expectations of people as life is always changing and we all get busy. I do not like forcing fading relationships and as I grow older, I realize many people are attached to fading, if not already faded, relationships. Why? I have no idea, but I am frustrated given my recent, negative experience with an ex-coworker and now ex-friend.

Simple Skin Hygiene; Be-you-tiful
Hello beautiful readers! I wanted to share my skin care routine with everyone because it is cheap and it works. I get compliments on my skin all the time, especially since I don't wear make-up—it makes it easy to see my natural skin. I inserted a picture of myself as the cover to show a split between my natural skin and what it would look like if I had make-up or an edited, filter picture. I used to and still get acne all over my body if I don't follow my routine.
