A Filmmaker's Guide to the Best Performances: Christian Bale
Christian Bale is quite possibly one of the best and most versatile actors of his era. Going from the English pretty boy to becoming the American Psycho, Batman and even portraying Dick Cheney - Bale has gone from strength to strength which was probably the reason he won a Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his role in "The Fighter" (2010).

A Filmmaker's Guide to the Best Films: The Holocaust
I'm sure that many of you can think of many films to do with the historical terror that is the Holocaust. An absolute atrocity of modern historical events, it led to a cultural and legal reform all over the planet and, for the first time in the 20th century, we were all forced to question why nobody saw this earlier. Too many people died, too many people were hurt and so many children were led to their deaths by one madman.

A Filmmaker's Review: "Casting Jonbenet" (2017) [Netflix]
"Casting Jonbenet" (2017) is one of the more uncomfortable documentaries on Netflix but it reinforces one, key idea that many documentaries on child murders and mainly murders in general do: men are our enemies. They seek to hurt us, kill us, cause brutal harm and should not be trusted in any way, shape or form with children or vulnerable people especially.

A Filmmaker's Review: "The Great Hack" (2019) [Netflix]
I'm not going to lie but this is one of the better documentaries on social media I've seen, though it isn't perfect. It is enjoyable to watch. When it comes to how revolutionary this documentary really is, I think it doesn't do much good in being 'revolutionary' - choosing mostly to play it safe and speak kindly to the safest people whilst using no real method of force to get the whole story. The one thing I did like however, is that the editing does not cut out these attempts on the people involved, it showcases clearly that the other side has basically refused to co-operate.

A Filmmaker's Birthday: My Top Ten Favourite Films of All Time
Please join me, all of you, in celebrating my birthday. It's normally a day in the calendar that I absolutely loathe but I have found one good thing to come out of it. It is this: now that I have a platform on which to write many articles about the very thing I earned my MA degree in (Film), I get to share many things with many people who may be looking to go into film and yet, do not know the stupid technical language that comes along with it. I think it should be a subject for everyone, the more people making different films then the better. The thing I found good about my birthday is that I can share with you my favourite films and include you in the celebrations.

A Filmmaker's Guide to the Best Performances: Heath Ledger
Heath Ledger was one of the most promising actors of the early 21st century with a ton of roles under his belt before his untimely death at the age of 28. Born and raised in Australia, he was working on TV shows there before breaking into his film roles in the late 90s. He worked on films in which he thought he wouldn't be typecast. Fearing the pressures of gaining more experience in different types of roles, Ledger also didn't like the celebrity lifestyle, often citing it as some sort of curse to followed around by the press everywhere he went. This fear was only exemplified with the birth of his daughter in 2005.

A Filmmaker's Guide to David Lynch
A Short Biography On the 20th of January, 1946, David Lynch was born in Montana, USA to a research scientist and an English tutor. Lynch moved around a lot as a kid going from places like Idaho all the way to Washington and Virginia. By the time he was of university age, he was studying at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts after a transfer which meant he moved to Boston. After a failed 3-year trip to Europe to become an inspired painter, Lynch returned to the USA after only 15 days. He returned to Virginia but, found his parents had moved to California and so lived with his friend. He and his friend then moved to Philadelphia and enrolled in art school again. It was there that he met his wife and then she gave birth to a daughter shortly after their marriage. Her name was Jennifer Lynch.

Isolation
I isolate myself and most people are fully aware of that. I do not go outside, I work one day a week and make sure I speak to nobody, I go to the supermarket with a family member to make sure nobody asks me a question or approaches me, I do not have friends or a partner and have never been romantically involved with anyone and nor have I ever been away with friends on any occasion. I do not text people, phone people, have friends to talk to, have family members to talk to (mostly because I don't want to talk to them) and I don't leave the house alone at all for any reason. As an introduction, I think this was alright for me setting you up for how much I actually isolate myself and so, if you're reading this then consider yourself lucky - you're getting access that other people have failed to get all their lives. Let's have a bit of background then...

20 Books of 2020 (Part 2)
I have been up on my usual reading antics and I can tell you that part 2, numbers 21-40 is finished and we will be going through them just as we went through part 1 here: https://vocal.media/geeks/my-first-20-books-of-2020. So without me explaining too much I just want to say how I'm doing it 20 by 20 instead of shoving it all on at the end of the year and it adding up to 400 or something stupid like that and so here we are. You may see some surprises and you may not, but I'm trying to read wider into cultures now, so hopefully it's working. If you want to know more about my reading antics then follow my Instagram: @anniethebritindian. Also, if you could write me a message that you've seen the articles and that's why you're following that would be great.
