The “Give Me Time” Guy
Here you are, after finding a great guy on Tinder (yeah let's be honest, that’s where everyone meets each other these days, no shame in that) who doesn’t seem too fucked up, or not too weird and actually has a good set of morals (your momma did good, boy!) You’re thinking to yourself “Ah, okay I found a good one, I can’t fuck this one up”. You go to the bathroom to get ready and make sure you don’t have lipstick on your teeth and ensure that your hair stays in place so you look #flawless alllllll night. You wink at yourself in the mirror (a little confidence boost) and put on your best outfit and out the door, you go!

How Creating a Vision Board Inspired Me to Dream
Lame and cliché title, I know. BUT! Hear me out, (please). A few years ago, my father and I were sitting in front of the television while I was visiting and, as per usual, we weren’t doing much. We weren’t really talking either, things have always been awkward between us so we just stay quiet most of the time. Anyway, I picked up the book he had laying on the coffee table, it read The Secret. I looked through the pages reading philosophical passages about this mysterious “Law of Attraction” and things like “The Law of Attraction is one of the most powerful laws in the universe. What you think about is what you bring about into your life. You can improve your life drastically by improving the thoughts that you dwell upon and the actions that you take.”

The Moment I Realized Love Did Not Exist
We had this cute love story that lasted a while. We knew each other for two years and fell in love right when we met. Our mutual best friend had introduced us. He was tall with dreads. He was from France and had a fancy accent. Actually, I had a hard time understanding what he was saying even though we spoke the same language, but nonetheless, his soft brown eyes made it all okay.

The Moment I Realized University Was Killing My Creativity
Sir Ken Robinson once stated in a TedTALK in 2006 that the fear of being wrong will stop us from being creative, that kids will take a chance as they are not frightened at being wrong. However, as adults, we have stigmatized mistakes; they are the worst thing you can do at your job, or in your life. Sir Robinson goes on to state that we are educating people out of their creativity and, to this statement, I could not agree more.

Stop Self-diagnosing Yourself on WebMD
Like many, I have resorted to the internet to find out what was wrong with me and, 99% of the time, I was dying of some form of cancer. Now, I don’t have cancer (or not that I am aware of) but trying to figure out what is wrong with yourself via the internet is a rather frightening process.

Don’t Waste My Time (Pt. 2)
I would sit there and wonder if anything big was ever going to change in my life? If I was ever going to get what I truly wanted — a great writing gig. Its all I could think about. I was becoming less interested in working hard at my job in order to focus 99% of my attention on writing. I wasn’t and don’t consider myself very good at it but, it makes me feel something powerful and I would be foolish not to follow this feeling.

Don't Waste My Time (Pt. 1)
Some people don’t understand the concept of time. Time is like sand slipping through your fingers (cliché, I know, but try to catch the sand as it’s slipping through with one hand, impossible). You can’t stop it, you can’t pause it; heck, there’s no rewind button on that shit! Time is precious. You will never gain time again, you are just losing time, constantly losing time, it’s just slowly slipping away and, that, to me, is a very scary thought.

Conversation with a Motion Designer
Let me introduce to you a fantastic self-taught motion designer from Southern France named Jordan Coelho, or what he likes to refer to himself as—Barth. Coelho, like many motion designers, has been drawing and creating since his early days so, what influenced him to choose motion design rather than another field? When asked the question, Coelho stated that following,

The Day We Were Evacuated From Our Hotel
Here we were, in the hospital, my aunt and I watching my grandfather’s nurse press into his groin in order to clot the blood to ensure that he doesn’t bleed out (he had had surgery five hours prior). She was causing him some pain, not intentionally but seeing my grandfather in such pain was agonizing for me so my aunt told me to go take a walk (perhaps so he wouldn’t see that I was on the verge of crying because he was hurting). So I got up and walked away.

The Day I Realized It’s Okay to Let People Go
Family, what a daunting word. What a weighted word… Some people out there have the best families. Everyone seems to get along all the time (key word in that sentence: SEEMS), have amazing family vacations and no arguments ever seem to arise. Ever wonder if that’s what really happens behind closed doors? I do. All the time. Being that happy with your family isn’t normal (haha).

The Day I Saw Stephen King’s House
It was a cloudy, creepy October afternoon. My aunt, my grandpa and I were driving down to Bangor, Maine from St. Agatha in order to accompany my grandpa to the hospital for heart surgery. We left St. Agatha around 9:46 in the morning and stopped at my other aunt’s to get brake fluid. We said our goodbyes and off we went.

The Day I Thought My Degree Would Help Me Find a Job
Oh god was I naive, haha! I applied to an Art History Master’s program. I got accepted and to ruin the punchline, I graduated, finished, donzo, see you never! But, what happened in between the first day and the graduation day is what we need to discuss.
