I want to start this article with a disclaimer. Being a science-minded person, I feel obligated to let you, the reader, know that there's been no scientific research or evidence which supports the claims of the crystal healing phenomenon. I'm not even sure whether I believe it myself. That being said, I've always found it to be an interesting topic and one that I enjoy reading up on, whether it's factual healing or merely a fascinating story-telling experience. That being said, the placebo effect has been backed up scientifically time and time again, and I believe that worst-case scenario this is what takes place. Many people swear by this practice, and so if it works for you, I'm completely in support of it. Now that this statement out of the way, I'd like to present what I've found in my vast research of this topic to be the most essential crystals and stones for any crystal healing beginner or expert to have in their 'toolbox."
We all get into funks where we just don't feel like ourselves. For a lot of us, good music can help combat that. So I've compiled a list of five of my absolute favorite tunes to pick up my mood! Whether I'm sad, tired, frustrated, or anything in between, the right melodies can help. These five are foolproof tunes for me, and I hope you all like them, too!
I'm only 23 years old, which is far too young to have hip pain so bad I can't get out of bed some mornings. There are countless nights I can’t fall asleep, despite being exhausted all day. Other times, I’m too exhausted to go about my usual routines and sleep for 14 hours. As a full-time student, that means I drowsily sit through a lot of lectures without absorbing the material to my full potential, or miss classes altogether. As a gymnastics coach, it means I often can’t spot gymnasts the way I want to or be as active in their practices. This is hard to imagine and even harder to cope with. However, that's been my life for the past nine months. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia three months ago after undergoing a ton of testing at the doctor's office. They can't detect for Fibro in the blood, so they diagnose it by ruling out diseases with similar symptoms like lupus, Lyme's disease, and rheumatoid arthritis. In the past, I was extremely active. I'm in the Army Reserve, coach competitive gymnastics, and backpack for days on end in my free time. I've never been someone people have considered lazy, and my energy and work-ethic are a source of pride for me.
On the rare occasion I tell someone I have PTSD, they usually assume it's because of my time in the army, and it is, but not because of combat like most people would think.
Breakups sucks. Whether you're the one initiating it or the one being left, heart break is never a fun experience. These songs sit on my iPhone in a playlist, ready to swoop in and pick up the broken pieces whenever the time presents itself. Though I love them all, they definitely cover different aspects and times during the healing process post-breakup—so I've taken the liberty of specifying which stage of grief I feel these relate with best. Some are the angry, f**k you type of songs that you crank the volume up on and scream along! Others have sad lyrics and slow heart-wrenching melodies that are perfect for playing quietly as you curl up in your bed and cry (not that I've ever done that...). But nonetheless, these songs help me get through my breakups every time and I hope they can do the same for you!
I've played in numerous escape rooms. I've been relatively successful—in fact, I've only failed two of them! Escape rooms are freaking AWESOME. They're a little bit intimidating if you haven't done one before, but they're worth it! Here are just a few reasons I highly recommend everyone try one.
