Smoking; a form of self harm
When we think of the word 'self-harm' we associate the word with images of knives, broken glass or razors cutting our physical skin. Yet we rarely associate self harm with other manifestations of our thoughts. For example we never associate self harm with the words we tell ourselves, we rarely associate self harm with other behaviours including heavy drinking and smoking.
