Lockdowns are NOT SAFE!
School lockdowns need to end, and someone needs to start the discussion. So, here it goes… If our children weren’t forced to become sitting duck targets inside of brick boxes, then no shooter would have the opportunity to kill over a dozen people. All classrooms have windows. All second story rooms should have fire escapes.

My friends at Mr. Mike's Grill
My friends at Mr. Mike’s Grill are in Westland, MI, on Wayne Rd. When you walk into this family restaurant, you are truly treated like family. The owners, Sammy and Hiyam, have over 40 years of experience in the business, and they have owned and operated Mr. Mike’s Grill since 2014. During this time, they have brought in their daughters, Tanya and Angie, to help run the restaurant alongside them, truly making the environment family owned and operated. You may not be able to tell right away which one of these lovely ladies you are going to get, as they equally share their mothers’ good looks, but they will both welcome you with the warmest smile when walk in, alongside the other wonderful staff there!

Pinned by the Dragons
“There weren’t always dragons in the valley. In fact, it used to be quite lovely. Hundreds of years ago, there were people who had domesticated animals as pets. They drove cars and had jobs and opportunity swelled at their fingertips. Everything changed when the eggs started to arrive. At first, they only found one, and the government took it for research, killing the dragon inside before it had a chance to become alive. Then, a few months later, they found five, but only two survived. A few weeks after that, there were ten more, and within days, there were hundreds more. No one knew where they came from. All around the world, they just began washing ashore.

Prom Night
Prom season is in full swing, and high school seniors everywhere are making that transition out of school and into the real world. Dresses are being chosen, tuxedos are getting rented, and limousines are getting reserved. Parties are being discussed and dates are being secured. The energy of enthusiasm and excitement is in the air, and it has awoken distant memories of my own prom night, which was now nearly 20 years ago.

My Friend, Mikel
A salesman by day, and a soulful poet by night, it is my delight to give you a behind the scenes summary of my friend, Mikel. But first, we must go back. If you’ve been following along then you already know about my friend, Matt, from my first article. Well, I met Mikel through Matt, in the Midnight Ramblings of Insomniacs group on Facebook. What can I say? Us creative types like to stay up late, we relate, and we congregate. We keep each other company, motivate and inspire one another, and it’s just a cool place to scroll online when you can’t sleep at night. That is how I found the group, and that is also how Mikel found the group, kind of…

My friend, Matt.
My friend Matt is quite a magnificent human, but from his humble demeanor, you’d never know it. He gives off the whole “Tom from MySpace” kind of vibe, but he’s just my friend, Matt, from my favorite page online. As creator of the I’m not a writer Facebook page, Matt shares poetic pieces from artists all over the world to a growing audience that is nearing 200k followers. With every like and share on each post, people from all different walks of life relate to one another with art. By creating this virtual community, Matt has forged many connections among strangers and built a tight nit virtual camp of creative individuals. He is not a writer, but when he writes, he shares pages from his notebook on his personal page, Bourbon Writes.

The Truth About Empathic Enabling
By: Amanda Spradlin 12/31/2021 Yes, you read the title right. We empaths sure have a way of breaking things down for everyone else. We can discuss their confusing behaviors. We can explore their level of emotional maturity, but very rarely are we willing to admit our own role of participation. We enable and sometimes even encourage others to continue choosing things that do not serve them, or us, by over-extending our compassion. Sometimes, the best help we can give someone, is none at all, because that is the only way that they will have an opportunity to figure things out for themselves.
