Who is Casey Anthony, and why does everyone hate her?
The Casey Anthony trial was a highly publicized case in which the mother was accused of murdering her two-year-old child, Caylee Marie Anthony, back in 2008. The case caused a media frenzy, with people from all over the world following the case intently. The trial, which lasted six weeks, resulted in the jury acquitting Anthony of all charges after less than 11 hours of deliberation. On July 5, 2011, the world was on the edge of its seats, as the jury finally announced its decision in the long-awaited murder trial against Casey Anthony, who was 22 years old at the time. The jury found her not guilty of first-degree murder, aggravated child abuse, and aggravated manslaughter of her two-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony. A trial of this caliper has not been nearly as captivating as the O.J. Simpson murder trial. The Simpson murder trial was a highly publicized case in the United States. Although Simpson was found not guilty of killing his wife Nichole Brown Simpson in October 1995, many believe he was the one responsible. The child's remains were found hidden in the woods near the family's home, wrapped in a blanket. It has been fourteen years since the jury made the highly unpopular and debated decision to find Casey Anthony not guilty of all charges.

The Last Father's Day.
As the sun radiated against the cement sidewalk in the summer of 2002, a gentle breeze made its presence evident. The aroma of charcoal and the blooming flowers announce the arrival of summer. Taking a few moments to allow my lungs to expand in the warm Wisconsin air, I stepped out the backdoor of the home, which I shared with my parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Today is Father's Day, the day we celebrate the men who have devoted their entire lives to caring for us. My dad was the greatest person I had ever known. He’s my hero, my daddy, my friend and yet, little did I know that this would be the last Father's Day we would spend together.

From the Desk of Gilmore the Pale
There weren't always dragons in the valley. Sit back and let me have the pleasure of telling you the legend of my grandfather, Krag. A few years ago, one of our clan's former war chiefs witnessed a flock of dragons land near our camp. Although our early years were hampered by dragons, it has become a ritual of passage for anyone who wants to become a war chief to retrieve an egg from the nest of a dragon. There were my father, his brother Tolas, and three other people. Only when my father, who was a tower of a man, brought more than just an egg back, did the clan gain respect for him. My father returned, dragging behind him the head of a young dragon, who was seen stealing our livestock and gaining the title of War Chief.

Frank Atwood is to be executed via lethal injection.
An Arizona death row inmate, Frank Atwood, a convicted pedophile had been convicted in the early 80s in California for the kidnapping and sexually assaulting of a 7-year-old boy. At the time Atwood was determined to be a “mentally disabled sex offender” following a case in 1975 involving child molestation. Nonetheless, the State of California released the then 28-year-old Atwood on parole in May of 1984 after serving just 3 out of the 5 years he was sentenced. On September 17, 1984, 8-year-old Vicki Lynn Hoskinson was riding her bike home from mailing a letter when Atwood kidnapped the young girl and then killed her. Atwood then left her body in the desert in Tucson, Arizona, and then took off to Texas. Some seven months after Vicki went missing, the young girl’s body was found. The Medical Examiner was unable to determine how the young girl died from the bones that were found, according to court records. Atwood was apprehended in May 1985 approximately one month after Vicki’s remains were discovered in April.
