Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny
Early reviews of the latest Indiana Jones movie, The Dial of Destiny, called the movie mediocre. Reviewers were convinced that this movie was just “okay”, well big reviewers have almost never been correct and it doesn’t stop here. Dial of Destiny was a proper Indiana Jones movie, there were a few basic movie flaws but nothing that truly drops its rating.

Secret Invasion
Secret Invasion has premiered. As Marvel’s latest installment of it's extensive universe I was immediately skeptical because as a comic book fan Secret Invasion is kind of a big story. So to handle that kind of story as a Disney+ show was already questionable. But then of course we found out that the director was instructed to not read the comics, because of course the MCU version is nothing even remotely similar to the comic book storyline. The only thing they share is a name, now not only is this misleading but it's unethical. If they had simply come up with a different title and said that it was inspired by Secret Invasion then everything would be fine. But keeping the original title and saying that the MCU was based on the comic book storyline is a blatant lie. It’s also wildly unethical to use the popularity of that story and not acknowledge or pay any of the comic book writers involved in that story. Again a small title change and “inspired by” would have fixed this problem.

An Open Letter To Studio Executives
Dear All Studio Executives, First of all, I want to say thank you. Thank you for forcing the writers into strike. You have inadvertently made this country a better place to live because the WGA strike has set off a wave of strikes and attempts to unionize and that will only change this country for the better. Second of all I want to say that you are idiots for not paying your writers. Your entire salary, all that money that you love so much is entirely dependent on the general public loving the content that these writers create. Good luck when SAG joins them, nothing can get produced without writers and without actors. You may have a deal with the DGA but they're going to be out of work too.

No Hard Feelings
The latest film out is Jennifer Lawrence’s, No Hard Feelings. Not only are we reminded of how amazing she is as an actress but we also get to see her comedic timing. The film was fun and funny and exactly what I expected it to be. It was a rom com that was exactly what it branded itself as. Though it followed the typical formula it was still a good time.

Asteroid City
Asteroid City was released this week and Wes Anderson has created yet another masterpiece. With his signature style he manages to create an original and captivating story that uses humor and heart to keep the audience entertained. Now I am a huge Wes Anderson fan who firmly believes that his entire filmography is 10/10. No misses at all.

Rewatching Twilight
So it has been almost exactly 2 years since I've rewatched all the Twilight movies and they have seemed to make a resurgence on tiktok so I thought I’d join the fun. Now I would like to state that I read the books so much in middle school that my copy of New Moon fell apart at the binding. I also watched the midnight premiere of every single movie so as I document my experience rewatching these movies I don’t want to hear shit about how I’m not a real fan or whatever. I have the nostalgia attached to these films and guess what guys? They are still not good. Again, because I have said this so many times, you are allowed to like, love, enjoy anything you want but let's be honest with ourselves. Reality states that these movies are bad, and that’s okay. So here we go rewatching Twilight.

Canceled Too Soon
There are about 1000 TV shows that were canceled too soon, but this doesn’t just apply to shows that were only aired for a single season. Sometimes after multiple seasons the show goes underappreciated and this leads to cancellation. These are some of my personal favorite shows that didn’t give enough attention on the networks they were on and therefore we as the audience didn’t really get closure.

Support the WGA
As the WGA strike continues it seems that by the end of this month that SAG will be joining them as they almost unanimously voted to join the strike. The DGA is also currently voting as to whether or not they will be joining the strike, either way Hollywood is being effectively shut down with or without them. Marvel has recently announced new general release dates for several projects due to lots of productions being put on hold in light of the strike. We will undoubtedly be seeing more productions be put on hold when the actors join the picket lines.

The Lantern Corps
Another project that James Gunn has announced is Lanterns, with the ambiguity of the title we can hope that this project will include all of the Lantern Corps colors. Now should that be the case it means that we will be pulling from the Brightest Day, Darkest Night series. That would allow for the background and full introduction of each faction of the Lantern Corps. I will simply provide a brief synopsis.

Lantern Corps
Alright we are back for part 2 of discussing the lantern corps and all their colors. We got about halfway through last time but there are so many to discuss. Honestly the Lantern universe is one of my favorites in comics and there are so many great storylines that you should read and I will do a separate article based on the color of lantern for you.

The Authority
One of Twitter's current complaints right now is why James Gunn is choosing to adapt The Authority. Who even knows who they are? Dumbass twitter users ask, the answer is; anyone that actually reads comic books. If you don’t read comics then you get no opinion until the adaptations come out and you watch them, even then 2 points off your opinion for not knowing the source material. So though most of us know who The Authority is and what their role in the DC universe has been, here is a brief history and background to their existence and why Superman will be involved in their story.
