Stan Lee
Those of us who love Marvel comics know exactly who we have to thank for the universe and characters that allow us to escape. Jack Kirby and Stan Lee built a world that we love, and though some say Stan Lee gets too much of the credit for creating this world of characters I think that severely shortchanges all of the other contributions Stan Lee made to the company and its expansion.

Marvel Team-Ups
Marvel has been around for quite a while and with time, comes new ideas, new characters, and new team-ups. The Avengers, SHIELD, The Sinister Six, the X-Men, X-Force, all teams that are well known within the Marvel comic book universe. But there were many team ups that go overlooked or at the very least underrated.

Scarlet Witch
We all know that I can talk about Scarlet Witch all day, everyday. I will never stop writing articles about how badass she is because people who refute me don’t actually read comic books, or know how to read at all who knows, so here is an even more in depth look at the growth of Scarlet Witch’s powers. The powers of the Scarlet Witch are often overlooked (or dismissed because she didn’t get what comic book nerds would consider overpowered until House of M), the reality is that she was always truly powerful her powers just weren’t clearly defined until closer to the 1980s.

Captain Marvel v Scarlet Witch
Okay so we know that I am a very bitter person especially when it comes to debates about whose more powerful...literally name any hero vs Scarlet Witch, the answer more often than not for anyone with a shred of common sense is Scarlet Witch. But I thought I’d try to appeal to the rest of you with logic and reason...I will preface this with, we haven’t seen very much of Captain Marvel and I am aware that she will play a bigger part in phase 4, however so will Scarlet Witch so my statements at the end of this article stand.

Phase 4
Phase 3 of the MCU wrapped things up so nicely and yet set up so much for the next 10 years. Now I talked a little bit about this during my Endgame review and video but with what's slated for Disney+, this year alone I thought it was time to revisit this topic. They could have easily set up the next 3 phases of superhero experiences and with all the announcements that have been made for not just films but for Disney+ shows, there are worlds of potential regarding our remaining heroes as well as heroes we have yet to meet.

New Mutants
As always before a comic book movies come out I would like to take a look at the background of the New Mutants and how their stories might translate to the big screen. The New Mutants is a group of young people with powers who are too young to be considered X-Men, but who are old enough to start learning how to contain, control and harness their powers. Under the guidance of Professor X, young heroes Karma, Moonstar, Cannonball, Sunspot and Wolfsbane became the core team. Though there have been additions to the team over the years the core original members mostly stayed the same.

Birds of Prey
I want to start this by saying that I was entirely prepared to be disappointed in this movie, I was ready to tear it to shreds. That said I am happily surprised that Birds of Prey was actually phenomenal. It was witty, bold, and brilliantly executed. It was an amazing stand alone movie, yet also set up two different sequels. I really have nothing but positive things to say about this movie so let's get started.

Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy
I like to call this article “the obvious Harley Quinn movie we should be getting but DC doesn’t have the common sense or the balls”... DC who has been on shaky ground since the conclusion of the Dark Knight series has had very few victories and even more hastily thrown together flops. Among the greatest of their achievements is Wonder Woman, their highest grossing movie since the previously noted conclusion, AND one of the highest grossing origin films of all time. Yet it seems even with that DC has little faith in their women considering the entire lack of marketing for Birds of Prey, a movie I wanted so badly to be excited for, but when I learned that they were not including Poison Ivy (which is the only way tying the Birds of Prey to Harley Quinn would have made the least bit of sense) I started to lose all hope. One of the most well known DC team-ups, one of the most well known DC relationships, THE most stable, consistent and loving DC relationship, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.

Harley Quinn
I’ve always thought that DC’s cinematic universe should pull from it's rich cartoon history as they have always performed better in that medium then they have in their comics. Both in animated television and movies they’ve already provided themselves with rich source material to adapt into live action, yet that seems to not have crossed any DC executives mind. However Harley Quinn doesn’t have much in the ways of independence in the cartoon universe, nearly all of her appearances are tied to another major character in the Batman universe, that said she does have plenty of her own story lines in the comics. Today we will be discussing the origins of Harley Quinn and what solo story lines would have been a better jumping off point for the character then Birds of Prey, a team she was never apart of and had very few interactions with...

Birds of Prey
With DC putting out Birds of Prey I think it's important to take a look at the comic book history of this all female team. Starting in 1996 (my birth year) around the characters of Black Canary and Oracle were originally based in Gotham City (the only accuracy I can find in the Birds of Prey movie trailers). In addition to Black Canary and Oracle the team regularly consisted of Huntress and Lady Blackhawk, more recent iterations of the team have included Poison Ivy (who does not have a place in the upcoming film, which makes a grand total of 0 sense to any fan of Harley Quinn). I want to pause to say that any solo Harley Quinn expedition that doesn’t include Poison Ivy is just the worst idea anyone has ever had and it shows me that the decision makers at DC have no idea what the hell they're doing.

Christmas In Mexico
Stop #2 Mazatlan! We docked, right up to shore on Christmas Eve. As someone who enjoys either rain or snow around Christmas-time the initial warmth and sunlight was a little disappointing. The tan I left with, however, was not. And no matter where we spent it I got to spend Christmas Eve with my family. Mazatlan truly had something for everyone, mom and I wanted to go shopping, my future sister-in-law really wanted tacos and we all wanted to hit the beach, we got to check all the things off of our lists. (The picture is of my Brotherman and his beautiful future fiance!)

Christmas In Mexico
Stop #1 cabo San Lucas! We docked in Cabo on the 23rd. The deal with going from boat to shore in Cabo is that the day before you have to pick up a “boarding pass” with a group number, thats your number to debark. Because we couldn’t pull right up to shore we had to take smaller boats to the pier. My siblings and I didn’t manage to get off the ship until around 10:30, upon hitting the shore my sibling immediately hit Senor Frogs, the famous Mexican tourist destination. Having been to Cabo before (and having done my partying) I decided to have a short wait on the pier for my parents until our excursion. They had gone on a boat ride to see the sites with my grandparents and cousins earlier that morning, they were going straight from their first excursion to our second one, scuba diving.
