6 Small Businesses to support this season
This holiday season I have pledged to try and only shop local to support as many small businesses as I can. Shopping local has a variety of benefits including helping the local economy and reducing fossil fuels because of reduction in time taken to ship the product to you. It can utilize less plastic and create more connections in the community to local artists, healers and businesses.

You do not need to have your life figured out yet
I have always had this preconceived notion that by the time I finished college I would have my life figured out. To be honest, the more I continue my schooling, the more confused I get with what I want to do in this life. I know what I want my end goal to be but how fast do I need to get there?

Why you need to fill your home with plants
Most of you know I have a slight plant obsession. This started when I took a summer job at the local greenhouse in my hometown a few summers ago. Now, wherever I live, my plants live with me. I have found out this is called "Indoor Nature Exposure" (INE) and is being used as a way of HEALTH PROMOTION. And since health promotion is one of my career goals, I thought I should do some research for you all to encourage you to fill your home with houseplants.

Why Nutrition Matters
A piece about the basics of nutrition and why it is important. I remember being in high school and not caring about what I was putting into my body. I felt sick after almost every meal throughout a day (digestion problems, bloating, upset stomach). These digestive issues started when I was about fourteen. Three years ago, I found out that I am highly allergic to eggs and slightly intolerant to gluten. To add, I also notice digestive problems after eating dairy, meat and fried foods. To add even more, I am a vegetarian. At first, I was devastated that I couldn’t eat my favourite foods but realistically, I just had to make some responsible changes in my diet. I guess you could say I follow a strict diet, however, it is based off a combination of my own beliefs and not wanting to feel sick after eating anymore.
