A year back I switched to iPhone. I have never been an admirer of iOS, given the fact that I am comfortable with Android cellphones.

“Man, you need to use an iOS to feel the difference”, is what I have heard a lot of times from my colleagues in the office. I decided to take the plunge and went to an Apple store to buy a brand new iPhone XR.

The real problems begin when we have to switch my apps from the old android cellphone to the new iOS platform. Although most of the apps that Google provides on the Play store are easily available at Apple store as well, few apps are just not available on the App Store in iOS. If available they fail to provide the much-needed quality that an app must-have.

The following are 5 of the coolest-must-to-have apps for an iPhone:

Apollo

This is a magic application that enables you to add light sources to the photos. Apollo reconstructs a 3D map of your photo which you can augment with new light sources in real-time making editing on the go. You can take your portrait mode photographs by selecting the colour, intensity, distance of a light-weight and illuminate your photos and selfies to your heart’s content. Easily available on the App Store, it also involves an in-purchase option.

It allows professional photographers to try things that are not possible in the physical world. You can shape scene lighting by adding or maybe removing light. Since lights are computationally rendered within the scene, it's possible to place a light-weight source within the frame. Great, isn’t it?

Fast PDF Converter

One such app is the Fast PDF Converter. This one is my favourite.

One day while I was working from home due to the ongoing pandemic, my boss asked me to quickly convert a few PDF documents into Word, edit, and send him over the mail.

I somehow sent him the documents by manually scanning them on my printer as I had no App available to scan the document on my new iPhone. After scanning, I converted the PDF document into Word file and then worked on it as required. The boss frowned over me for being a little late in mailing him.

Later, I sat down and looked for a good app that focuses on solving the problem of file format conversion for users. An app that can complete not only PDF conversion of Word, JPG image, PPT, other such formats but also convert Word, PPT, image, Excel to PDF, and up to ten types with one click. Then I stumbled upon this app called Fast PDF Converter. And damn! It’s awesome.

It helps in mutual conversion of file formats and the professional and stable conversion prevent garbled characters and content loss during the conversion process, truly realize high-quality and lossless conversion of documents and the use of the software is not restricted by regions and equipment, meeting the needs of different user groups.

The app is a masterpiece. I am a paid member of the app and it solves most of my problems in a jiffy. I would categorise the app into the productivity section. I highly doubt if there is an app on android which can provide the following features that Fast PDF Converter can give you on iPhone. I just hope to this app to be launched on the Android platform as well, and needless to say, it would be the top in the category.

It is preloaded with the following functions:

It can convert PDF to other formats like Word, picture, PPT, Excel, HTML, TXT format, to help process PDF files more conveniently. It can also convert other formats into PDF like Mobile Word to PDF, Excel to PDF, PPT to PDF, JPG image to PDF, Image to PDF. It supports PDF reading, supports searching text, adding notes, graffiti, pictures, renaming, copying, deleting, and sharing PDF files in PDF. Other small functions include image recognition text, photo translation, voice recognition, voice translation, wifi transmission, PDF compression, PDF merging, PDF encryption, PDF decryption, PDF splitting, document to long image.

The coolest feature is the one-key convenient conversion. You just select the document format that needs to be converted to perform the conversion operation and the document is converted and obtained.

You can simply take pictures to recognize text, so you no longer need to type the keyboard to enter data and you can convert pictures into text with a single tap. It also has a Voice-to-text. You no longer need to use a pen to record the content of meetings and courses. You can convert the recording to text with just one click. And the very cool intelligent text translation provides professional and authentic English translation with high translation accuracy along with intelligent voice translation. You can easily translate between English and Chinese by speaking, and the translation accuracy rate is pretty high.

Surprisingly, it gives WiFi file transfer to mobile phone computer transfer files online and you can bid farewell to the data cable. Not only that, it features PDF lossless compression for online compression of PDF file size, saving storage space for your device.

I installed the App on my iPad too. It works blazingly fast.

The document conversion is completed on a secure cloud server, which makes the conversion easier, faster and energy-saving. Based on the powerful conversion kernel, the document will not appear garbled, content loss, etc. during the document conversion process, meeting the high-quality conversion needs of users. The file will be deleted from the server immediately after the conversion is completed or the conversion is cancelled to protect the security of user documents.

The app is inclusive of in-app purchases but it is worth it if you have to increase the office productivity. The app gives a three day trial period to use post which features have to be purchased. I liked the product and instantly purchased it.

Stylebook

Stylebook is an app for the fashionista peeps. It lets you organize your closet on your iPhone and helps you put outfits together. So, if you have got a lot of apparels within the closet then this is the app for you. It changes the way you get dressed. The basic premise of creating this app was to make you ready for the evening party or the college sophomore from the clothes that you have in the wardrobe. It is worth it when you factor in the nifty outfit inspirations included. You'll always know what to wear.

What caught my eye-balls was the fact that it can be used by any person, belonging to any age, be it a college-going girl or an office going man. I would put the app into the category of my creative likings, though I see a whole lot of expectations for improvement in future. For example, sometimes it fails to recognize a typical Indian dress and do not comes up with a good suggestion. Well, I hope the founders would fix that soon.

Product Hunt

The app allows you to follow newly incorporated startup founders, view curated collections, post new products on them whenever required, and download apps directly while browsing. It is a top choice for the product designer and they just love Product Hunt.

It keeps the user on top of the tech scene by letting them know what is the hottest thing (or about to become) in tech, books, software and more. It has a voluntary community that curates things that get voted up or down, so there is a democratic process administered by the internet, it’s like consumer reports and Reddit had a baby. If you love tech and want to know what the next big thing is, you will find it here first, before any other news source. This product is indispensable for founders and investors in tech.
