What startup programs can i disable to increase performance?

Hi, you've asked an interesting question. My answer might help you out. I like to use AutoHotkey to disable startup programs so that my PC boots faster. AutoHotkey is free and very useful for automating repetitive tasks. Here's a link: http://ahkhd.net/startups/

Starting up your computer can take a long time, especially if you start dozens of applications. This is where startup programs come in. You can start them when the computer starts to get rid of this problem. The question, however, is what startup applications should you be disabling? Thankfully there is an answer for this question, as well as some ways to deactivate unwanted, resource-draining startup programs effectively and safely.

Shortcut to the correct answer

The first thing to do is to try and disable some of the startup programs. To do this, click on the Start button, then type "msconfig" into the search box. Click Startup tab to see all the programs that start up with Windows. Uncheck any program you don't need or use and click Apply then OK.

You can also disable some of these programs permanently by unchecking them in msconfig and then clicking Apply, but this will make them load at every boot-up, even if you don't need them. If your computer is still slow after disabling startup programs, you may have an antivirus program installed that is causing a conflict with other software on your computer.

What are startup programs?

Startup programs are programs that start during the boot process. They are often utilities and services that are loaded when Windows starts, or they can be programs that you have installed. Many startup programs run automatically at startup because they're associated with an application or service that you use frequently.

However, some startup programs may be unnecessary and can cause your computer to boot more slowly. To disable a startup program: Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box. Type msconfig in the Open box and then click OK. In the System Configuration window, select the Startup tab.

In the list of Startup Items, right-click on any item you want to disable, and then click Disable (or select Disabled from the drop-down menu). Restart your computer to apply these changes.

Which startup programs are important?

There are many different startup programs that can slow down your computer. Some of them are necessary, but there are also some that you can disable. When you start your computer, a lot of programs and services will start automatically. This is the way Windows works for many years. The problem is that it doesn’t make sense to start a program or service when you don’t need it.

Most startup programs are either not important or they don’t need to run right after startup. They can be used at any time later in the day without any problems. But why wait? You can disable them so they won’t run at all! First things first: Which startup programs should I disable? There are many different types of startup programs that vary from system tools to software updates and more.

Lets look at each category individually and see which ones we really need: System Tools: These include services like “Windows Audio Service” or “Windows Defender Network Inspection Service” – both essential for stability and security reasons! If you don’t have installed antivirus software, then you should consider installing one as soon as possible!

Otherwise, keep these services enabled!

How do i disable startup programs?

The first thing to do is to identify what startup programs are running on your computer and which ones you can disable. There are several ways to do this. One of them is by using the msconfig utility, which can be found in Windows 7 and later versions of Windows.

Here's how: Click on the Start button in the lower left corner of your screen, then click Run. Type msconfig in the Run box and press Enter. A System Configuration box will appear. On the General tab, click Selective Startup and then click Disable All. Click Apply and OK to save your changes.

You'll be prompted for an Administrator password before this change is applied. Another way to disable startup programs is by disabling them through Task Manager in Windows 7 or later versions of Windows: Press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to open Task Manager. Check the box labeled More Details if it isn't already checked (see screenshot below).

Click on Services in the left-hand pane of Task Manager and scroll down until you see svchost (this may be more than one entry). Right-click on each svchost entry that appears under Services and select Properties from the context menu that appears (see screenshot below).

In a nutshell

I have to say this, a lot of people want to go straight to tweaking their registry when they want something done. If you don't know exactly what you are doing, this is a very bad idea.. especially disable some important startup programs. This is why you should use a 3rd party tool like PC TuneUp suite by IObit which have an easy and safe way optimizing your windows startup programs.
