Everyone who owns an Android smartphone has experienced when apps are not responding. Your screen is frozen and none of your app icons are moving. You tap here and there, but it just doesn't want to work. We all know that frozen phone moment when we start to panic and try every possible solution, even though we know it's most likely a frozen app.

In this article I'll share with you my five tips for when apps on your Android phone are not responding.

Check if your device is up to date

When your phone apps are not responding there isn't much you can do. Sometimes, it's nothing to worry about and your app will start working again after a few seconds. Other times, it's a sign of a bigger issue that needs to be fixed. If you notice that an app isn't responding, here are five things you can try: Check if your device is up to date If an app isn't responding, try updating your Android device to the latest version of Android.

This will ensure that any bugs or issues with the system have been fixed. You can check for updates by going into Settings > System > System Updates and tapping on Check for Update. If there is an update available for your device, follow the prompts on screen to download and install it.

Clear the cache If an app still isn't responding after updating your device, clearing its cache might help. To clear the cache of an app, go into Settings > Apps & Notifications > Select App > Storage and tap Internal Storage (or External Storage) > Clear Cache/Clear Data (depending on whether you want to clear just cached data or everything).

Check your devices in-built memory state

When you open a faulty app, you might see a message that the app is not responding. This means that the app has stopped working and you can’t use it to perform tasks. The reason why some apps don’t work properly may be due to a number of reasons. Here are some tips to fix this problem: Check your devices in-built memory state Apps require a certain amount of RAM to run smoothly.

If your device doesn't have enough memory, then it will automatically close apps that are running in the background. Also, the device might shut down an app if it's using too much power or draining your battery too quickly. Solution: Go to Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage and then see how much space is available on your device.

If there isn't enough space available, go through each app and determine if there are any unnecessary files in them that can be deleted to free up space on your device.

Restart the app by closing it, if the app still does not respond try restarting your phone, if that does not work you might have a bigger problem and need to delete the app and reinstall it.

When you try to open an app on your Android phone and it fails to respond. You may have a problem with the app or your phone itself. Here are some tips for when apps are not responding. Restart the app by closing it, if the app still does not respond try restarting your phone, if that does not work you might have a bigger problem and need to delete the app and reinstall it.

If your phone is slow or freezing up then try rebooting it as well to see if that helps, this should fix most problems but if it doesn't then you need to delete the app and reinstall it. If these solutions don't work then try uninstalling all of your apps one by one until you find out which one is causing issues with your device, once you find out which app causes problems then contact the developer or look for a solution online like in forums or social media groups.

If you're using an app and it stops responding, check to make sure that your internet connection is working properly. This can be a common cause of apps not responding in the first place. If you're using a mobile data connection, make sure that you have enough data left on your monthly plan so that you don't incur overage charges.

Close out of all other apps running in the background. If you have lots of apps open at once (especially if there are multiple tabs open in your browser), this can slow down your computer or smartphone and cause apps to freeze up or not respond properly. Close all other apps except for the one that isn't working properly and see if that helps get it going again.

Uninstall and reinstall the app from the Play Store or App Store (if possible).
