Reflecting on 2021; I look forward to 2022. As the year comes to a close, both professionally and personally, take the time to reflect on what you have learned this year and ways you are looking to up the ante for the new year.

Reflecting on 2021

Since this is the second year of the pandemic; many of us have faced many challenges. From working remotely to not being able to see many people on a regular basis; to say the least; things are still strange.

At the same time, there is one thing this last year has proven. is there is no excuse for not staying in touch with family and friends.

So, now is the time to start thinking about what you did and what changes you want to make in the new year.

Not only am I making strides towards a healthier lifestyle; but I’m also setting the wheels in motion to make more travel plans for 2022.

Reflecting on 2021 – What have you Learned this Year?

While many businesses have closed their doors or operated much differently than in the past; did working from home become the norm for you?

Meanwhile, there may have been things on your bucket list for the year that didn’t happen. So, this year, start the year by checking off some of those things on your bucket list.

One thing I have learned since the pandemic started; is life is short. None of us have a crystal ball. So, if you have missed out on something adventurous, visiting a new place or a new life experience; don’t let the upcoming year be another year of lost opportunities.

Are you Looking forward to 2022

Though you may not have been socializing as much as you would like; it’s time to change this. So, even if you have a few people who aren’t comfortable going out socially; you can still make the time to make plans one-on-one and stay in touch regularly.

Will this be the year that things change?

One of my goals this year is to not have a year of missed opportunities. Whether it is planning vacations; personally; I’m up for some new things this year.

One suggestion I have for anyone looking to make changes is to get started writing some things you would like to do. Moreover, we have all heard about resolutions before. But, this year make a list and stick to it.

Reflecting on 2021 – Schedule Plans

If you haven’t had enough time to do things you would like to or to get together with friends; make plans. If your friends are afraid to go out in big crowds; invite a few people over for some sips and snacks.

Or, plan a day for pampering, shopping or going out for dinner.

You may say this year, I am planning to get out more. However, this may take you time. Baby steps!7

Life Journal: Bucket List

In my opinion, a great way to accomplish things is to keep a journal. When you write things down; it enables you to see what you would like to accomplish and as you do them; check them off.

Whether it is to write something down you have planned; make this year all about doing things you want.

So, get ready to put your bucket list on paper; and make your plans a reality.

- Declutter

With a new year ahead, now is the time to declutter. Take the time to get rid of things you no longer need. Whether you have things you no longer need, or wear; tackle one room at a time.

Next, set up a donation bag and phone a charitable organization or non-profit to donate gently used items. And, you may even find you have items you never used or wore.

Save your tax receipts as this is a write-off for next year.

Finally, when you have this done; you will feel lighter.

Whether you are cleaning out your closet or a room; visit my Clean, Donate, Swap Sell Clothes post for some ideas.

- Decorate

With the Winter months upon us; you may want to spruce up the inside of your home. By freshening up the rooms in your home; you are giving your room a new appeal.

Reflecting on 2021 – Try Something New this Year

So, every year many of us make a New Year’s resolution or plans of things we want to do throughout the year. However, how many of us actually stick to our plans? For instance, we make plans to join a gym or lose weight; but a month into the year; we stop going to the gym or dieting.

Why not shake things up this year?

Try something different. If you are a foodie, look for a new restaurant to try. Or, take a cooking class. Also, there are a lot of virtual cooking classes.

If you are not the type of person who likes outdoorsy type of things in the winter; take a walk in the snow. Or, try snowshoeing. If you have never done this before; visit the Beginners Guide to Snowshoeing and you will be on your way to exercising and having fun in the snow.

Go out of your way to include some new people in your plans. If it is someone you recently met; invite them to a party or to join you on a group outing.

- Pay off Debt

Indeed, the start of a new year is a good time to get your bills in order.

The Spender’s Guide to Debt Free Living

Anna Newell Jones created this book due to a lot of debt she had. In fact, she heard about a plan and decided to implement it in her own life. In 15 months; she was able to erase close to $24,000 in debt.

Indeed, you will inspired with Anna’s suggestions and may even find another way to generate additional income.

If you read this book; let me know if it helped you erase your debt?

Reflecting on 2021 - Look Forward to 2022

Though you may not have a list of everything you want to do this year; you can be one step closer to learning new things, visiting new places and meeting new people.

In summary, reflecting on 2021 may not leave you feeling as fulfilled as you would have liked; but this is a new year.

As always, I welcome your comments on how reflecting on 2021 has you looking forward to this year.
