IOS 15 has been a major talk of the season with giddy expectations on what is to come. Apple released the update on September 20, iPadOS 15 has surprised the world with some unique capabilities that take iPad’s productivity and versatility even further. While the vast majority of features available on iPhones are heading to iPad, some are not.

For instance, you won’t find the Weather App on new upgrades. It could mean Apple thinking that people don't bother checking the weather on tablets or their health, as the iPad Health app can’t be found on the screen either. However, one thing that people appreciate on the iPad is the ability to work more efficiently. It is not surprising, therefore, that key features of the new iPadOS 15 focus on accomplishing tasks.

Multitasking

The chaos of iPad multitasking is now more coherent with iPadOS 15. A multitasking menu allows users to create a Split View setup from any window or app. Split Views can be created using The App Switcher by sliding one app over the other. Windows are able to be displayed in a centered position on the screen, without having to leave the current view, and are reduced to a Shelf that holds all windows that are open in the app currently in use.

Widgets

New layouts for widgets on The Home Screen and App Library allow you to customize an iPad experience and manage apps. You can access them from any place now, and the new layouts come in enormous sizes. App Library is also available and can be accessed via the iPad Dock. Well, now we demand the feature back to available on the iPhone!

Quick Note

Among all the Apple gadgets, Notes gains some nifty collaboration features as well as tags for organization. However, if you need to quickly write something down it's now possible to drag it from the bottom right corner to type or draw on notes in a Quick Note. These notes, which are more targeted, are conscious of the website or app you're using, appear in context, and may contain web pages that when you click will take you back to the particular location within the application or page from which they came from.

Safari Extensions

Safari is receiving a major aesthetic overhaul that spans every Apple operating system, and extensions support for iPad isn't exclusive to iPad. It's possible that extensions will be more useful on the tablet than on the iPhone iOS15 in terms of productivity enhancements, be it such as Grammarly to make sure your writing is good enough or other tools that will assist you in completing your tasks with personalizing and customizing your browsing experience.

Universal Control

If you have got several Apple devices at the same time, Universal Control lets you move one cursor across the devices. For instance, if you have an iPad Pro right next to your iMac you can shift the cursor onto the iPad's display, control the iPad's apps and drag content and documents onto your iMac. Are you using multiple Macs? It's not a problem as the Universal Control is able to intelligently track which input devices are in use. The best part? There's no fussy setup It just works.

Swift Playgrounds

For a long time, Swift Playgrounds has been an enjoyable way to learn to program with the help of cartoon-like interactive lessons. The program is now taking on a serious hat with the help of a brand new project type that allows you to create iPad (and iPhone) apps directly on your iPad. Projects can work with Xcode for Mac however, you don't require to install it. Quite contrary, you could create and test your app completely using your iPad, and submit the completed application in the App Store.

Translations

Apple's translator tool is now integrated into the base OS that is available in conjunction with either your iPad or iPhone device. When you highlight a text and the copy/paste option appears, you'll be presented with a translation option. Click to select the Translate option to have the text translated into the language you prefer. You can edit or copy the translated text however you want.

Keyboard Shortcuts

Before, when you used the Command button on the iPad's keyboard it would display the list of apps-specific functions and their key counterparts that gave you an instant reference card for keyboard shortcuts. The new version of iPadOS 15 has expanded this feature. It not only lists keyboard shortcuts but also includes every command available in the application, so you are able to click to perform the commands. iPad apps that extend a Mac menu bar in their Catalyst version are able to get this feature at no cost.

Shared Experiences

FaceTime lets users communicate with those they value most. With iPadOS15 it is now possible to share experiences via SharePlay when they connect with their acquaintances on FaceTime and listen to music together using Apple Music or watch movies or TV shows using Apple TV+ and other streaming services that are in sync. Shared playback controls allow anyone to play, pause or advance. Users can also extend playback into Apple TV, and watch it on their TV. SharePlay allows users to connect their screens, which is ideal to browse the internet together.

Tools to Find Focus

iPadOS 15 offers powerful tools to help users focus on their tasks and minimize distractions. Focus is a brand new feature that blocks notifications according to what the person is currently doing. Users can configure their devices to assist them in staying in the present by creating a customized Focus or choosing an option depending on the context of their activity for example, during working hours or when they're sleeping.
