Dragonfly
Iridescent Wings
Given by a transformative life
Beginning in the water
Where it originally grew up
Beneath its surface
It would one day have to break
To reach new life
With wings
Braving change for flight.
++++++++
Moonlight
Soft light, different hues
ever-changing shapes
and transformative
ebb and flow-through
the year
Stars-guiding light
Slowly rotating compass
Night is shelter- of harsher light
shade-for nocturnal.
++++++++++
Dandelion Wishes
carried listlessly through
the breeze.
Or mowed down.
Dandelion
wishes, to children
curses, and nuisances to adults
banished by poisonous potions and
dispensed by a wand.
Dandelion chains
childhood fun, with
small suns
A weed
spotting manicured lawns
they don't belong.
