The Entertainment
A Poem
You look down your nose at me in disdain
Because to you
I’m just here to entertain
I give you a fake name and a smile
Because I know you’ll only be here for a little while
Then you will leave
To find another
That’s how it is for the entertainment
We’re here for you to enjoy
Nothing but a toy
Until it’s on to the next one
Authors, painters, midnight dancers, singers
Etcetera
Here for the high rollers and all classes of swingers
As long as they have money
They got us between their fingers
But they’ll never know the inner us
The haunting thoughts that always linger

Sounds like how the rich thinks about the needy and downright poor. The haves and have nots dueling it out. Age old story.
