sophie stares at the stars

thinking

they're like those magic cards

quiet and shy

until they dance and play

left and right

singing and swaying

away into the night

keeping her company

when pillows aren't enough

distract her keen ears

from a bear's angry roars

no, sweetness

look here at us

the house a lasting memory

of a stripey bunny's weak cries

the unfaltering kindness

of twinkling far away

usher their wond'ring child

striped with tears

up into the sky.

"All the world's a stage,

And all the men and women merely players:

They have their exits and their entrances;

And one man in his time plays many parts."

- William Shakespeare

Consider this a doorway to my heart and soul. 🌱
