Being silenced by constant interruptions can make one question everything, even our own voice. Is it better that I just shut up?
What's with people who just talk over others?
Is it an ingrained habit, a lack of awareness or some deeper personal issue?
Are they raised like that?
What can one do about it?
Do you tell them off or just walk away?
Whenever you ask me a question, I'm happy to answer. But when I begin to respond, you repeatedly interrupt me.
It's confusing.
Am I supposed to answer or not? If you don't want my input, why ask in the first place?
Is it perhaps that my voice annoys you or you simply enjoy hearing yourself talk?
Perhaps talking to yourself in the mirror would be more fulfilling for you.
You seem deeply enamored with your own voice, almost like someone entranced by their reflection, Narcissus gazing into the pool.
Take all the time you need to indulge in this self-admiration. No one's stopping you from wasting away in that self-absorbed world.
Marvel away at your own amazing ego.
It's entirely your choice, after all.
Just so you know, the world doesn't revolve around you.
I'm not Echo to Narcissus where my body fades away and my bones turns into stone wasted on you.
Farewell.

" I'm not Echo to Narcissus where my body fades away and my bones turns into stone wasted on you. " I really like this line. Your work was fantastic!
It's honestly so draining and exhausting trying to talk to people like this. Loved your poem!
"If you don't want my input, why ask in the first place?" This line was real. Incredible work Mika! 💌
Of all people, my own mother has this habit. Now I just suck it up and move on to the next thing when she does it. Haha. Lovely poem - love the way you phrased all these questions.
Oh yeah. Been there with same thoughts and feelings. Great job on this!
