i was steady
until you swept me
off my feet
and i sprouted wings.
we rode on the galaxies
laid on the moon
as the world
stood still.
you ran your fingers
through my hair
and i remembered
that i feel.
you took my breath
away
and i remembered
that i breathe.
like Jupiter
you lit up my eyes -
like Venus,
you burned.
every day
was night -
a glittering oasis
of stars.
they say
there will be others
who will kiss
your forehead.
but to me you are
the last man
on an the universe
empty of you.
