in my horizons

i look for

sunsets -

blazing fires

that will take me

down.

under my sky

on my stars

i wish for magic -

brazen power

that will lift me

up.

in my loveless world

i wish not

to be loved.

in my barren heart

i want to give

and never take.

i want to build

a forest

of self sustenance

to drink waters

of my palms

and what if

i was all

i ever needed.

but every golden sun

i curse the ground

and every silver moon

i cry

because i am empty

and need to be filled

head hanging low -

again.

You just have such an exquisite way with so few words. Every single one is impactful and as a word nerd, I love that, from an arty point of view, how you give such power and charm and meaning to even the smallest of words or phrases. From an emotional point of view, this tugs hard too. Wonderful work as always, Sara! Also...that image is amazing!

From the opening vastness to the gut wrenching end, so tight, so sad and so close. Another mournful masterpiece!
