Adil Shah, the founder of the progressive metalcore band Plasmic Knock, enraptures numerous audiences throughout Bangladesh and abroad with his heavy metal music. For the last 18 years, he has been playing the critical roles of guitarist, composer, and lyricist as the band’s leader.

Founded in 2007 and previously known as Dreamkell, Plasmic Knock first became influential in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and quickly became a runner-up for the Nokia IAC award in 2008. On behalf of its home country, the band was a champion in Bangladesh and placed 4th in South Asia. In 2015, Plasmic Knock won first place on the ReverbNation platform. The five-member group later earned the title of Best South Asian English Band in 2016 from Sound Gimmicks.

The quintuple ensemble comprises lead guitarist Adil Shah, drummer Saiduzzaman Sunny, bassist Mashroor Rayian, vocalist Shakib Zesun, and guitarist Sazid Ali. Together, they released their first track in 2009 and produced the following full-length albums:

  • “Mrito Shobvota,” in 2016,
  • “Norokito Prithibi,” in 2020.

Plasmic Knock has published the following singles in several mixed albums:

  • Dead Moonlight
  • Apparent Nightmare
  • Shoperner Rajjo
  • Shadinotar Gaan
  • Ghumer Desh
  • Mayagar
  • Upolobdhi

Adil’s leadership in the band and helping his crew to compose songs has fueled interest in public relations. The band has performed at local event centers, including Mani Square and the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology, and reached virtual audiences containing thousands of listeners on Spotify and Apple Music as verified artists. Plasmic Knock features music videos on its YouTube account, which has amassed over 1,300 subscribers with more than 47,000 views.

Plasmic Knock’s music has been heard at concert halls, Bangladeshi universities, and convention centers. For example, the band played “hard-hitting” music at the Mirpur Cultural Convention Hall during the AniManga Carnival 1.0 Event. One of their most significant performances occurred at Mujib’s Bangladesh Cox’s Bazar Carnival, hosted by Any Momento Tours & Travels. This carnival recognized the members for their efforts and expressed gratitude for participating in the event.

The talented team had the opportunity to play a gig for the Dhaka University Band Society at the Concert for Rasel, receiving praise from many of their spectators. During a college festival at the Dinajpur Government College, Plasmic Knock performed live at the Bandhan Community Center. Pledge Harbor International School, Bangladesh’s first IB-accredited boarding school, also hosted the ensemble. As another privilege, Adil Shah led his band members into Uttara University’s Annual Alumni Reunion 2023 event.

Plasmic Knock participated in two volumes of Expo Zone’s The School of Rock, a series of rock music performances from some of the nation’s best bands, at the ICCB (International Convention City Bashundhara). Additionally, the group performed in the first chapter of the Symphony of Rock, a musical event sponsored by NextOn for the Music Bar of Bangladesh.

Their melodies and unique playing styles have captured the hearts of many listeners, who inspired them to compose more music.

“It’s always gratifying to see our music resonate with listeners and receive recognition in the press,” Sunny said concerning Plasmic Knock’s growing popularity.

The Bangladeshi Band Music Fans Community fan page credits the band for its thrilling heavy metal music. The fan groups have grown into a large and inspiring audience that regularly follows the band’s events. Because of its popularity, Plasmic Knock offers official merchandise to its followers so they can share the band’s name throughout the nation and abroad.

Adil Shah has led his band to perform live on radio stations, namely Longdrive with RJ Shova on Radio Dhoni 91.2 FM, on numerous occasions.
