The computerized clock on the dashboard flickered 11:59 PM as Emily's vehicle hustled down the unfilled parkway. Her heart beat against her ribcage, matching the mood of the windshield wipers engaging the downpour. She looked at her telephone, the screen showing a solitary missed call from her better half, Imprint.

With shaking hands, she dialed his number, the telephone ringing once, two times, threefold before he replied.

"Emily, where are you?" Imprint's voice snapped through the speaker.

I'm coming, Imprint. I'll be there in a moment," Emily answered, her voice bound with franticness.

You guaranteed, Emily. This is our last opportunity," Imprint's tone was stressed, loaded up with the heaviness of their disintegrating marriage.

The downpour beat against the vehicle, overwhelming Emily's contemplations as she steered beyond a glimmering street sign showing the exit for the town hall.

Kindly, Imprint. Simply hang tight for me," Emily argued, tears blending in with raindrops gushing down her cheeks.

I can't continue to do this, Emily. I really want you here, presently," Imprint's voice faltered, the line snapping with static.

Emily's foot squeezed more earnestly on the gas pedal, the speedometer moving as she moved toward the off-ramp. She looked at the clock, 11:59:45 PM.

I'm nearly there, Imprint. Kindly, simply hang on," Emily's voice shuddered, her knuckles becoming white as she grasped the directing wheel.

The town hall lingered ahead, its overwhelming design enlightened by the sparkle of streetlamps. Emily's heart dashed as she maneuvered into the parking garage, her tires slipping on the wet asphalt. She opened up the vehicle entryway and ran towards the entry, her heels clicking against the substantial.

With each step, Emily's breath developed worn out, her chest fixing with expectation. She burst through the entryways of the town hall, her eyes filtering the jam-packed anteroom.

Also, he was right there, remaining toward the finish of the foyer, his eyes locked with hers. Imprint's appearance mellowed as Emily drew nearer, her breath hitching in her throat.

Mark," she murmured, her voice scarcely perceptible over the noise of the hall.

The clock above them ticked constantly, the seconds getting endlessly as Emily connected for Imprint's hand. Their fingers interlaced, a quiet commitment passing between them.

I'm here, Imprint. I'm staying put," Emily promised, her voice consistent regardless of the tempest seething around them.

What's more, in that transient second, as the clock struck 12 PM, Emily and Imprint stood together, their adoration rising above time as they confronted the unsure future ahead.

And there he was, standing at the end of the hallway, his eyes locked with hers. Mark's expression softened as Emily approached, her breath hitching in her throat.

The courthouse loomed ahead, its imposing structure illuminated by the glow of streetlights. Emily's heart raced as she pulled into the parking lot, her tires skidding on the wet pavement. She threw open the car door and sprinted towards the entrance, her heels clicking against the concrete.

I'm almost there, Mark. Please, just hold on," Emily's vThe glow of the streetlights danced across the courthouse's marble walls, creating a stunning contrast against the dark night sky. Emily's heart raced as she approached the entrance, the anticipation of what lay inside building with each step.

The courthouse stood tall and proud, its imposing presence demanding attention from all who passed by. Emily couldn't help but feel a sense of awe as she gazed up at the intricate carvings and ornate pillars that adorned the building's exterior.

Emily's foot pressed harder on the gas pedal, the engine roaring as she raced towards the exit ramp. The clock ticked closer to midnight, adding a sense of urgency to her daring escape.
