A Random Word Drabble Challenge: benighted
A Drabble is a story of exactly 100 words. No more, no less.
They scream, “Bring Them Home Now!”
I agree.
Bring them all home. Those behinds bars unjustly. Those buried under the rubble. Those who can’t even haunt their own streets as the street is gone. Dust. Ashes.
Ethnic cleansing is successful when a benighted nation is run by a tyrant.
To them, the solution is erasure. Eradication.
A nightmare cooked up by scared little politicians that suck on missile fins before throwing them violently to the ground. Their asses getting rashes. Their heads getting too big with power. All stink air in there.
Will home even be there to return to?

From the River to the Sea, let them come home and live free.
I want to note that though a Drabble is fiction usually, I wrote this as there are still folks who think what’s going on is fictitious. Yet, it is truly real. Genocide is happening, and there is not enough being done to stop Isra*l from continuing to massacre Palestinians. But hey, maybe the only way folks will understand this is through a “tale”.

We'z Walking on a Path Ruled By Numbers
This road has felt endless, yet limited; every step tracked. Inching away along this path, I feel trapped. Confined. Left to this narrow passage that may one day amount to something greater. Time is not a concept. Only distance. From start to finish, I laugh and cry and attempt to convince myself that this is worth it. I cannot stray. I must keep going. Every step etched, is a step taken, is measured as more than before. I cannot even recall how I got here. Maybe I don’t even really exist. Just another tick marking off a perceived presence. Of what though? I am just another line drawn. Nothing more, nothing less.

The Right Thing
I only noticed that new girl in class because of the name: Melanie. Never heard it before. But I had no time for her. I have friends already. Like Eve and Sylvie. Especially Eve, she’s always up to something. Last week she invited us to the military base where her dad works. Well, not exactly to the base, more like the training grounds in the woods. We went there Sunday, when soldiers had a day off. There were ropes to swing on, narrow planks to test your balance, wells with ladders so you can go down, tunnels… Eve and Sylvie are my besties.

Tea set by a suffragette
Pankhurst is a name well known to the history of women’s suffrage. Who hasn't heard the name Emmaline Pankhurst, founder of the Women's Social and Political Union (WSPU), an all-women organisation campaigning for the right to vote? The group that helped to achieve the right to vote for women in Great Britain and Ireland in 1918. Some know of her daughter Christabel, both being honoured by the Pankhurst memorial in Victoria Palace Gardens, London, right next to the UK Parliament buildings. Sylvia Pankhurst is notably not included in the monument. Why? Because she split with the WSPU to campaign against Britain's entry into First World War.

Heart in shreds. This rips soul. But we cannot give up. Light always trumps darkness. Always. ALWAYS.
There is no home anymore. These poor people don't deserve any of this. I hate how much they're being demonized for exisiting.
