The birds in the forest are the guardian angels watching over the brother and sister who ran away from an abusive household of hostility and invented security out of necessity.

While they sit under the tree, the birds chirp to awaken the siblings from their wildest dreams of catastrophic nightmares.

The sister is already awake. She always was, she has been fatigued for days.

She blinks in a dazed brain fog with an unclear sighting through her eyes.

Her eyes can't bear to open properly to see her brother's soft silky hair that has turned oily and bitter, resting on her lap.

She's now used to the tree bark spiking her back which keeps her up for hours, being fully self-aware of any interruptions from creatures.

"Are we there yet?"- Her brother wakes up.

"I couldn't tell you at this point."- She tilts her head downwards without moving her eyes.

"Come on get up, we must continue our journey." They both take their time to get on their feet.

~

"Do you even know where we are going?'- The brother slowly walks behind his sister holding her hand.

"No..."- She turns to glance at her brother. That glance changed her perception of what's real and what's not.

"Brother? You look so... skinny."- Her eyes attempt to comprehend what she's seeing.

"And Blue."- She adds.

"I think I'm just really, really tired. Come on, keep going."- He yawns, which is perceived as a deformed Picasso art in his sister's eyes.

She gags. "I don't feel too well." She faces forward and continues walking.

Moments after attempting to breathe out of calmness, an abrupt sound occurs behind her, which ways weighs her shoulder down. "Hey!" She turns around to her brother.

He was lying on the floor. He is still holding his sister's hand, but hopelessly lying on the mossy ground that is supporting his body.

His sister on the other hand let go of his hand and covered her mouth in disbelief. "BROTHER!" She kneels to the floor and tries to wake him up.

"How did you just die all of a sudden? Where did your body go? WHY IS IT JUST YOUR BONES LEFT!"

She heavily vomits in the nearby lake~
