Introducing New Communities: Chapters, Writers, Critique, and BookClub
Four new communities for writers; inspired by you.
When we first launched Vocal, we embarked on our journey with just six communities. Over the years, your invaluable feedback has guided us in introducing new communities centered around topics that sparked your interest and ignited your creativity. However, we recently made a striking realization - while we are a platform dedicated to writers, we lacked communities specifically designed for writers.
That's why we're thrilled to announce the introduction of four new communities, tailored specifically for writers and inspired by your feedback. These communities are not just spaces for sharing and learning; they are a testament to our commitment to nurturing our incredible community. Our aim is to create a supportive environment where we can all continue to grow and flourish together.
Additionally, in honor of these new communities, we will be launching a series of Challenges over the next few days to help get the conversations going.
Chapters
Chapters is a community for evolving narratives. Share your serialized writings and let your readers accompany you on an ongoing adventure. Whether you're a novelist, short story writer, or a fan of serialized literature, this community is your arena to share, explore, and relish the excitement of continuous narratives.
Critique
Critique is a community for writers seeking constructive criticism and guidance. Share your works-in-progress and let the collective intellect of our community guide your writing journey. Whether you're a novelist, poet, essayist, or simply someone who appreciates the art of writing, this community is your space to evolve, learn, and enhance your skills.
Writers
Writers is a community for sharing, learning, and evolving as a writer. Share your creative process, prompts, and advice, and gain insights from others' experiences. Whether you're a seasoned writer, a beginner, or someone intrigued by the art of writing, this community is your space to share, learn, and grow.
BookClub
BookClub is a community for book aficionados and literature enthusiasts. Share your perspectives, reviews, and insights on the world of books. Whether you're a voracious reader, a book reviewer, a literary scholar, or simply someone who enjoys the company of a good book, this community is your space to share, discover, and engage.
To make this launch even more exciting, we're introducing a Bonus Boost for our Vocal+ members. If you publish in all four of our new communities—BookClub, Writer, Chapters, and Critique—before 11:59PM EST on 9/01/2023, you'll be eligible to receive a $10 Bonus. It's our way of saying thank you for being an integral part of our community. Please note that the Bonus Boosts will be promptly sent to your Vocal Wallet at the conclusion of each campaign.
We're thrilled to see how these communities will flourish and transform with your input. Drop your thoughts, feedback, and suggestions in the comments below. We're always on the lookout to enhance and provide the best experience for our community.

I'll post this here and perhaps I get some response. I am honestly puzzled about an obvious randomness when articles and stories are published on Vocal Media. There are many, many different sections/communities where to submit the different articles/stories according to topic, genre, etc., which is great. Then, I see advice on how to proceed when being attacked by a caterpillar published in the Writers community. And I wonder, why is this caterpillar here? Neither the caterpillar nor the advice that was tagged as "Life" has anything to do with Writers, which description reads: "Join Writers, a community where Vocal writers can share their process, prompts, and advice like how to get published or how to get over writer's block." Can anyone, please, explain why sections/communities exists with their description being totally ignored and so many articles/stories being randomly added to any community? The caterpillar story is not the first case I see. There is a recipe in a community for technology that has nothing to do with technology, and so many more examples. I honestly need to understand what's happening. Thanks to all this, I have a hard time knowing where should I submit my articles, to where they actually belong according to the communities' description and common sense or I just pick a section/community randomly because, who cares? Also, Tech News could be a better name for the current 01 community. There are some non-tech related stories there, too, of course. I think what happens is that some people submit the articles to whichever community with more writers. Nice trick. But that's a big problem because I honestly find a recipe or whatever out of place in a community for tech news.
So, when do we get the 10 dollars?
Yes I'm very interested with your website, and am ready to give my own contribution, but with my native language.
To get the bonus, do we just submit to those communities, or do we need to enter the challenges in those communities? Also will challenge entries count towards the bonus or is that separate?
Ok....so awesome...I love ALL of this!!
Will Critique have a lower word count minimum to let people share their poems for constructive feedback/guidance?
I will be honest, I wasn't too impressed with these new communities, but I was wrong. Chapters is good for serials, Writers is good to share ideas and advice, Book Club is great to share favorite reads and book reviews, and Critique is good to ask for constructive criticism on any type of Vocal story. Bravo Vocal
I'm really excited to hear this because I've been struggling to take my writing seriously, (only publishing for certain contests) and this makes me so excited to get more into my personal writing journey!!
It is real good idea, because then you can learn from others also.. looking forward :)
Really pleased to see the inclusion of Book Club. As someone who reviews books weekly, I am looking forward to sharing some of my thoughts on books I have read and hopefully, engaging in discussion.
I hope, this communities is sussed.
I have my four in. Very excited to see all these new groups up!
I so amazing new communities
I love these new communities! One of my favourite activities is receiving and giving critiques. I would have to say that getting critiques on my writing is one of the main things that has made me grow as a writer. Not so much from inexperienced readers who are just offering their opinions, but from writers who know how to write well, and offer specific, constructive feedback. I have high hopes for this category. Thank you Vocal!
I got a lot of stories that could be moved into these communities.
Love it!
Great initiative, Justin. Thank you for introducing new communities. They will be great to showcase our stories.
