Queer Vocal Voices on Facebook Celebrates One Month
An Update on the Group
In case you missed it, about a month ago, River, Oneg, and I decided to start a group specifically for Queer creators on Vocal. You can find the Facebook group here:
Our goal is to foster a community of Queer creators where our work can be shared. Another goal was to grow the PRIDE community on Vocal, and it seems that the group may have contributed to the number of stories in PRIDE getting a bump.
Occasionally, we will share news stories or articles from outside Vocal.
We just finished our first prompt contest and had several entries. Voting went well, and results will be posted in the group on Saturday, March 2nd, in the evening.
By the Numbers
In the past month, we have had some great interactions in the group.
We have 35 active members.
103 posts in the last month.
401 comments in the last month.
682 reactions in the last month.
Group Threads
Each admins share a story from the PRIDE community on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. This is called Pride Picks.
Tuesday is Fab Fiction Day for creators to share their fiction pieces from any community.
Thursday is Open Mic Poetry, for creators to share their poetry and prose.
Saturday is Saturday Spotlight, where creators share other’s work.
Sunday is Sunday Laughs, where we share humor or satire pieces, jokes, and memes.
An Exciting New Challenge
We have an exciting and impactful Challenge coming up. Keep an eye out for that. It will be announced in the group, and a piece will be published on Vocal.
Overall, we have had a pretty great first month. The group already has a sense of community, which is wonderful.
We look forward to seeing the group grow and develop. Thank you for being a part of this group. And just in case you missed the top link, here is another link to the group.
