You have become my shining

Afterword:

I had a ball writing this haiku about a work friend. I work as a cook in the back of a restaurant and she works front of house as a sever / bartender. One night, after the kitchen had closed and she clocked out for the day, she sat at the bar to unwind and I joined her for a moment of conversation. I walked away from that conversation knowing more fascinating facts about her than I did before, and realized that we had more in common than I thought. We were talking about TV shows and she recommended a new one to me, “What We Do In The Shadows” (on Disney +). I have since watched the entire series 3 times. It’s become one of my comfort shows— one that I put on as fun-loving background noise while I read and write. The show gives me the comedic relief my soul craves while I stay up at night outpouring my thoughts and emotions onto virtual paper, and it’s a testament to the wacky sense of humor that I share between myself and my work friend. I’m forever thankful that I’ve met this person.

If you’re looking for a light-hearted comedy to watch that is wonderfully written, within the niche topic of vampires…I highly recommend!

Here’s a glimpse of the “Jackie Daytona” episode in a fan-made video. (Not made by me) You’re welcome. 🙂
