We've made it all too difficult;
putting ‘goodness’ out of reach.
We’ve locked it in a velvet vault;
giving keys to those who preach.
.
The simple choice of right from wrong,
and treat your neighbours well,
shouldn’t filter weak from strong
or determine where we dwell.
.
When the simple act of ‘give and take’
is reduced to a special kind of creed,
we miss the point, for goodness sake,
for good is just and just is good indeed.
.
Good is not a destiny to contemplate,
nor is it the key to a closed estate.

Tim Grace
A first impression has a lasting effect - it makes a notable difference. In a subtle way that’s who I am as a poet. A ‘first impression’ looking for the gentle ‘twist’ that draws attention to a novel observation.
