I can lay in your arms forever

Floating on the breeze of your promising words

Although if I were really listening

I could tell that it was absurd

To believe that we could ever truly be

What we both dream can someday become a reality

It never will

Dreams like that don’t come true in real life

Our paths were never meant to cross into husband and wife

And I will forever be heartbroken as I play witness to you and her

And you watch him loving me while I’m loving you

Life is a cruel ugly joke

That makes the heart want what it can never have

And God laughs

As we try to figure it out

So I lay here in your arms hoping that one day it’ll be forever

But knowing that day will never come

So you can keep the wind

I’ll lay here while waiting for the sun
