The Curse of a Blessing
A Past-Life Regression.
Another life, seen through my own eyes,
The horror of death, every moment of suffering felt,
The sheer terror, the fear, of something I once romanticized,
Laying on the bathroom floor, screaming, desperate for help,
Anything, anything, to return to normal life!
A renewed sense of being rises in tandem with the morning's golden light,
Through the twisted torment of what was once repressed reaching the surface,
A true curse, to have experienced that strife,
A truer blessing, to have seen and learned through it my purpose,
To wake up, to breathe fresh air, I never would have imagined the way they now satisfy,
But the curse of the knowledge brought me a blessing, to know the beauty inherent in being alive.
