A Ballad of Loyalty

The Courser's Heart: A Ballad of Loyalty

No coat of spun gold, nor thunderous stride,

This courser's a friend, by his master's side.

His muscles, honed lean, for journeys untold,

A loyal companion, worth more than pure gold.

His mane, a smooth sheen, the color of night,

Shimmers with starlight, a loyalist's light.

His eyes, soft and deep, with a trusting gaze,

Reflect a bond forged, through hardship's maze.

He whinnies a greeting, a gentle, warm sound,

Ears pricked for his rider, on familiar ground.

He kneels with a sigh, head resting on hand,

A silent promise, to forever withstand.

He carries his burden, with strength and with grace,

No fiery charge, but a steady pace.

Across scorching plains, or through winter's white veil,

The courser's heart beats, loyalty's tale.

So sing of the horse, not the one swift and wild,

But the friend by our side, a bond reconciled.

May his loyalty echo, through valleys and streams,

The courser's heart whispers, in our dearest of dreams.
