Tell it to the Sea

Your old story is dead

Tell it to the sea

Let it go let it be

You've always been

Too much to me

A little too sorry

For this world

A little too sad

And hungry to exist

In the in-between

All or nothing

But always stuck

In the in-between

Your tears fall

Like sparkles

On a black sand beach

Those voices in your head

Sing in harmony

Trying to get their melody

Stuck in your head

They disguise themselves

With your own voice and tone

Hoping you'll believe

The lies they tell

But someone else

Put them there

And if you listen closely

Their melody will change

And your story will too

There's only one you

And you get to write

The vision for your story

And rewrite it

As your journey changes

Tell the voices in your head

Your old story is dead

About the Creator

Anxious Little Rock

Writing to free myself from years of never sharing my voice. I was always the girl with the quiet confusing stare. Lost in thought, always questioning when I would ever belong. Always misunderstood.
