Restoration

a silent plea

Bonfire of my heart

Turned ash and feeble embers,

Banked by bitter words.

Malice puffs float white,

Beautiful and awful both,

Polluting my soul.

Tattooed on my skin

These dirty cuts and bruises,

Tainted earth, am I.

Sullied by anger,

Oh, send purifying rain

To cleanse me of you.
