Preparations

Don't ask questions, don't ask directions, just go

Is it just the weather that's turned colder?

Or is it that half my bed is empty?

All I know is every sock that I darn

Makes me feel more like Father MacKenzie

~

Downsizing and salvaging together

If it does not spark joy, make it

This philosophy works for a wardrobe

But not for all that I may have to save yet

~

I have so much to look forward to

But I am not there yet,

No I am not there yet

I know I'll have a lot of work to do

Am I prepared for it

Am I prepared for it?

`~

Sealing myself off into compartments

Knowing I may lose some things forever

It's a noble loss for what I'm gaining

Still, it's most reluctantly I sever

~

Oh, how I long to live unburdened

By anything but people who adore me

Them, I will shelter from this deluge

For I know they'd do the same thing for me

~

I have so much to look forward to

But I am not there yet,

No I am not there yet

I know I'll have a lot of work to do

Am I prepared for it

Am I prepared for it?

~

What is it I have to look forward to?

I'm not quite sure yet

I'm not quite sure yet

What is the work that I will have to do?

Am I prepared for it?

Can I prepare for it?
